Seems like a laughable joke of an article along with being a very weak source. But with all the said, Shumpert needs to prove he can at least stay healthy for 1 NBA season without needing surgery before talking about his contract status and/or current situation (2G vs. SF). And to be quite honest, Shumpert has not been very good (to say the least) since returning from injury. Which is expected. I don't believe Shumpert will have his full mental confidence and/or 100% in strength until sometime next season. For example, Derrick Rose has yet to return. Shumpert has no right to say anything other than trying to improve as a basketball player.

Felton
Shumpert
Novak (yeah, I said it)
Anthony
Chandler

That resonates- I see "D" from the guards- Spacing from Novak--Carmelo in prime flow- Shumpert or Felton free to drive- Carmelo left undoubled- Alley oops to Tyson-

The tought thing would be on the Defensive end against any team w any size- Novak hustles on D and is obedient but not really effective- that puts a lot more on Carmelo- Maybe he can handle it- Think so Mr Earl?

Absolutely 93B. Novak is still 6'10 and at least brings height. Think of him entering a game warm, instead of cold.

Novak takes the first shot of every game and sets the tone from outside. Carmelo can rest his shooting arm until the game is in the line, if needed. Play defense homey.

It's too perfect.

"the ship be sinkin'"???

How long have you wanted to say that?

not long. but when a promising young player asks for a trade he is abandoning ship.

what does it say to you?

it says many things, but your pessimism clearly comes shining through. this is a joke of an article.

i see no reason for being optimistic. i haven't seen an ECF finalist in 35 games. that's the goal.

and you are basing this on a rumor or just using it as an excuse to repeat yourself?

has it occurred to you that every post in this thread is based on the same rumor?

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

He's young, hiding behind his injury. I like him but he has value and if the right move pops up I'd take it. His offensive game seems to be a bit limited and so far he hadn't been nearly the defender he was last year.

Do you understand what an ACL tear is? Do you realise what the recovery process is?

The important bit is the bit in bold- obviously "the source from another team" is the GM wanting to trade for him, and is trying to put rumors out there that Shumpert wants to be traded to increase the chances the Knicks will do the deal. Likely his agent has been mouthing off. I know Shumpert isn't comfortable with his new role on offense, as he's said it a couple of times, but hopefully he realizes it's just temporary while he gets his athleticism back- hope his agent isn't trying to persuade him otherwise.

I don't get why we just don't start Felton/Shump/Brewer/Anthony/Chandler. We don't need Brewer to shoot but we need his D and scrapiness. Then Shump goes back to his natural position. Shump is a special player, I would hate to see him go.

Well DUH like I told gunsewing he's never going to properly develop here when you have BLACK HOLES such as Melo/Amar'e/Earl....I don't blame him for wanting to spread his wings grass is greener on the other side desire, if true. Nor does he want to probably be pigeoned hole as some "do the dirty work" player... be only a lock down defender.

He may see himself more along the lines of a Luol Deng type with possibly more athleticism full recovery from ACL injury.

He will never be Luol Deng talent on this team with the Motley Crue of Stooges we have here.

Once again we're in WIN NOW MODE.....Goodbye Shump....Grunny Get It Dunny Sunny!!!!!

ROFL.....

shump/ lin was the backcourt I envisioned for years to come.. a healing from the wound of that unfortunate trade we made with denver.. now shump wants out. well if true, not surprised at all.....

Anyone who sits around and waits for the lottery to better themselves, either in real life or in sports, Is a Loser............... TKF

I think Amare comes back to the starting line up and Shrump moves to the 2..I think that's always been the plan but the NY media likes drama..

I wonder how many on here will still say how Shumpert was a better pick than Faried

Just sayin

Shump was/is just another player/YUTE overrated by this fan base

Excellent defender (at least he was and will hopefully he will regain) / horrible offender

You realize you can win any draft with the benefit of hindsight?

Of course

There was a hindsight discussion about who was the better pick and who do you think many of the yute lovers chose?

However, there were some clear minds who knew how silly that view was/is.
