Unfortunately because they don't have the patience for Shump to heal. If he wasn't hurt/recovering there is no way we are having this talk.

We are still a player or two from competing. If our bigs come back we are close. But as of recently we have lost to 5 of 7 or so of the last good teams we have played. Writing is on the wall.

We won't win adding offense...Our biggest problem is defense and Batman(Melo)needs a Robin...Amare will get more time after the break..Perimeter defense and not being able to defend the pick at the top of the key is our problem..Every scout has this on their Scouting Report...Outscoring teams is MDA's gameplan..

Agreed so let's forget about him as someone we can depend on in the playoffs and take what ever he gives us. Try to look in the D League and find someone.

Ageed. Shump can't defend as well as last year (still has lightening quick hands) nor do much with scoring. They are looking at a SHORT term upgrade imo. Not saying I agree...

I like that trade...esp the restricted 1st rd draft pick
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

NO NO NO
Why is 1/2 of this board bent on trading Shumpert ?

Knicks need boards a Paul Milshap from Utah

I'd deal any combo of White/ Novacs/Copeland & picks, or simply stated
trade anyone whom aint Melo/Felton/Stout/Tyson/Kidd to Utah Jazz for one of their bigs, D.Favors or the reliable P.Milshap
throw in a guards Paublo or Brewer

I might be wrong but I don't think the Knicks are looking to move shump. It sounds like the Suns want him and want to put together a package that the Knicks accept. I will be upset if the Knicks move Shump.

Dudley
just what we need another guy whom depends on scoring and when he's locked down
he aint going to add anything else to the game

Dudley is a false/flawed 2 way player I aint interested in, cant see why the knowledgable forumers here ? want Jared Dudley

What the devil does he add to Phoenix Suns ? he is as inconsistent as his yrs in league recently
he only improved a bit cause the Suns team been so bad. Now the erratic Beasley is getting minutes and play away from Dudley
and this Jared ? is what you knick fans want ?

for what?
Knicks need another PG distributor before a Jared D., why does every thing got to be about scoring.

Dudley isnt impressive to me as a defender consistent stopper, I am willing to wait on Iman Shumpert return to form
Iman deserves that from Knickerbockers org., If Knicks does this deal it will ruin franchise

You want to deal Iman ? you'd better give me back something else than Jared Dudley

Agreed this is the Suns showing interest more than the Knicks. And for good reason! Teams know they can hose the Knicks for young talent

Aint beating the Heat

and even the Nets or Bulls with Jared Dudley

Can't believe a guy with ACL injury & is trying to mend is having Knicks considering using him as trade material
Having this organization learned anything ?

amen
couldn't agree with you more

These horrible losses
(BULLs, Rockets) occurred LONG BEFORE I.Shump came back

Knicks trying their best to outscore people as when their 3's worked and NY played tad more D' back in Nov. & December
since Knicks aint playing D now OR hitting 3's to scare anyone with JR Smith going 1 for 100, Then it all comes back to STOPs

Mike Woodson is turning into Coach MDA Part 2:
his philosophy & ways to get into people team faces dont seem to work OR Woodson lost it.

After thinking about it, I think you are right. I can still see the Knicks reasoning though - maybe they are worried Shump won't regain form defensively and doesn't bring much offensively so they are moving to keep the chance of a championship alive. I see that perspective, but as another has mentioned, Rubio is starting to turn it on and was out just a bit longer than Shumpert, so perhaps we do see a return of Shump next month or later this month.

I just love having a guy with his defensive ability (last year) and am willing to sit back and wait. He is a GAME CHANGER. Dudley is a nice player, but not a game changer. Players like Shump help guys like Melo indirectly, buy getting defensive stops and disrupting the other teams offensive flow; thereby lessening our offensive dependence on Melo. That is invaluable and really doesn't show up in the box scores...

There is no reasoning on the knicks part in trading shump for dudley. This is phoenix trying to steal dudley. Its going to take a trade that improves the knicks to trade shump

exactly... although I am a believer in shumps potential, at this point he is not better than dudley... why would the suns include a pick of any sort?
