I think he lost a lot of respect from people after the fire hydrant episode. I still like him a lot. He works hard. He just has to let the game come to him, take what he's given...but most importantly play D and rebound. I see flashes of him and Melo making it work on the court.

I defended him like crazy last year but, for me, the fire hydrant made me regret that

this is the type of stuff I'm talking about with this guy

NEW YORK -- Two hours before tipoff on Monday, Knicks forward Amar'e Stoudemire was in the bowels of Madison Square Garden, shaking hands and sharing hugs with dozens of Madison Square Garden workers, thanking them for their service.
[+] EnlargeAmar'e Stoudemire
Bruce Bennett/Getty ImagesOn Monday, Amar'e Stoudemire went the extra mile off the court by providing lunch for about 600 workers at Madison Square Garden.

"They actually work for the Garden and work here to help our organization grow smoothly. So it's only right to show support on how much we appreciate how much they work," Stoudemire said.

For the second straight year, Stoudemire, through his foundation, provided lunch for approximately 600 Garden workers. Last season, he bought lunch for Garden workers before the season opener on Christmas. This season, he chose to do it on Martin Luther King Day before the Knicks hosted the Brooklyn Nets.

"It's really just showing support that we truly appreciate all the employees that actually make our job easier as basketball players," Stoudemire said. "... It's on a special day as well, a day of unity. It's great to bring everybody together for a nice cause."

Stoudemire, his wife, Alexis, and his three children spent time talking to the Garden workers who came to eat.

Stoudemire, eight games into his comeback attempt from left knee surgery, shook hands and signed autographs for several workers.

"I think they are our biggest fans," Stoudemire said. "... So to be here to shake hands with them is just another added bonus to let them know how much we truly appreciate them."

Stoudemire, who's averaging 10 points and three rebounds on 45 percent shooting in 21 minutes a night, said he had a simple message for Garden workers.

"It's just thank you, it truly is," Stoudemire said. "Thank you says a lot when you truly appreciate the hard work that goes into it behind the scenes that a lot of our fans don't get a chance to see. So I want to bring that situation to light."

He had a horrible defensive stretch in the first half. But played better in the 2nd half and he and Melo had something cooking. You can see that it's getting better with those 2 together.

I agree with you but I also think he treated last year like he wouldn't have to play basketball, and that's why he was hurt, and that's why his knee is effed up right now

I will admit I thought Amare was done when we heard his knee was jacked up again. He looks good right now and this is what we need from him. I do think we need to be cautious though because his knee can go at any time and who knows what will happen with his back - that could be chronic too.

I wish him the best though, when he is on he is awesome.

All the flak WOody gets he deserves some credit for STAT's turn around. STAT is now according to the numbers is one of the premier post players in the league right now.

I've always maintained that post play isn't about shooting over 50% from 5ft in. Amare this year is finally exhibiting true post play with an array of post moves. Get back to nailing those 15ft jump shots like its 2010 and he is by far our best post player since Ewing

Ewing was more of jump shooter, he played the post some but usually the drop step or fadaway jumper is what followed..

Amare is more like a combination of Webber and shaq in the post, especially with his quickness.

He's a rythem player that needs multiple touches to get going, I'm a agree with him coming off the bench, he just as more room..Considering Woodson level of offense creativity, It's better to keep it simple and played them(melo tyson and amre) together in spurts

Let's not go crazy here. It's really to early to compare Amar'e with another player's post game. It is still in developmental stages. He lacks patients right now and needs to learn how to pump fake. He is putting up some great numbers and I look forward to the future.

I'll definitely give Woodson credit for easing Amar'e in the way he has when other coaches wouldn't. Amar'e is looking like a very improved player and his defense is improving nicely too.

It is sad. If it was about hard work and rehab amare could overcome this.

I agree that it's sad. However, he had a good career that he can be proud of and is financial secure for the rest of his life. He should just retire. If he keeps playing, he'll probably need knee replacement surgery by the time he's 35 and won't have legs that he can walk on when he's 65.

That is a low blow bro! even DJ Wouldn't go there & I've picked on Stout in 2011 & 2012/2013.
Amare working out, getting it done in gym, paying Hakeem $50K to show & confirm lost post new offense
Amare picked up the slack & its unfortunate we all as fellow nyk fan brothers should pull for Stoudemire and hope he can come back
again.. Cant fault Amare's spirit, attitude & positive ways as a Knickerbocker.
