Hey this is a feel good blog about Melo and someone always have to bring the damn thing down to something negative.

Is this what its about? A feel good moment gets ruined by a point of view you don't agree with?

This is not "circlejerkulitimateknicks.com" is it?

Fishmike won't go to syracuse and ruin the party. Im 12 hours away and I promise I won't crash the party either. This is about syracuse. If they want to honor the man, have at it.

I agree with Papa. Not sure why there seems to be a hunt to find away to turn something positive into a negative or minimize it all the time on this forum especially when it is about Melo.

At the same time one might say the same thing that not every bit of nice news is some fairy tale either. Is it nice for melo? Sure. Help him sell sneakers? Ok. Its no negative, but its not getting us closer to a championship.

There are maybe three people that don't like melo. Don't Lump everyone. Thinking its a bit over the top is not hate.

Fairy Tale? This thread is about Melo getting a jersey retired. That is real, wheres the fairy tale? What the hell does that have to do with winning a championship with the Knicks? Crush is dead-on, you are one of the main culprits that minimize every positive and turn it into a negative. You claim to be neutral but its all a bunch of BS. If you are really neutral, where are the Mooby-Lin threads? You mean to tell me you haven't seen the idol-worshiping of Lin on the site either?

When people lose at home( spouse argument- bills- problem with kids etc...) , you can rest a sure they will come to ultimateknicks to vent and disrupt the conversation on a positive topic.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

If you want to argue about Lin, have at it. Thats not my thing. Sorry to see him go, I liked him. But the math can't work with him. Thats real.

Mooby is not about Melo, its the fans starphuch towards Melo. The way he has been worshiped.

I always say "it all gets worked out on the court". Its about the games.

What fans?! You quoted 1 fan! Instead of waxing poetic and lumping people in, why not just quote Papa's post and direct it at him? BTW, he's a fanatic who believes his team will win a championship. Whats wrong with believing in your team?

Whenever fanatics start believing in this team, you always feel the need to bring the thread down with your Mooby-nonsense, the circle-jerk references or your orgasmic pics. So what if people may go a little overboard, its what fanatics do. Its ulitmateknicks.com not neutralknicks.com.

Since you've anointed yourself as the board-policeman, why not police both sides. You turn your cherry-beams and sirens on when you feel someone overpraises Melo and you chase them down in threads and mock them for it. But you sit idly by and ignore the posts that go the other way and blindly bash Melo and the Knicks out of sheer emotion.

As you said, "it all gets worked out on the court." Its all about the games. But its really not all about the games with you. Its about taking a shot at Melo whenever the opportunity presents itself. Its about those orgasmic pics you posts whenever Knicks fans get excited after winning a game that you just said its all about.....Just be consistent....

Did I lump or does the lump happen on its own?

We are all police aren't we? You are here to police the police?

Its a vicious circle.

Love is never having to say your sorry.

I guess we can now begin dialog as to what "Ultimate" really means.

Ultimate positive? Ultimate reality? Ultimate fables? Ultimate simple?

ul·ti·mate [uhl-tuh-mit]
adjective
1.
last; furthest or farthest; ending a process or series: the ultimate point in a journey; the ultimate style in hats.
2.
maximum; decisive; conclusive: the ultimate authority; the ultimate weapon.
3.
highest; not subsidiary: ultimate goal in life.
4.
basic; fundamental; representing a limit beyond which further progress, as in investigation or analysis, is impossible: the ultimate particle; ultimate principles.
5.
final; total: the ultimate consequences; the ultimate cost of a project.

After reading it I would say "Starphuch" is an ultimate expression and would conclude that if so, its permissible to dicuss this "exression" or enticement technique perpetrated by Dolan to the Dolanites congregation.

It is my long standing belief that Dolanites, Somerists and Haters are splinter groups, but as with all fan base are necessary.

Nothing wrong with views. I would think all "sects" of the Ultimateknicks are welcome as long as they follow the respect of the the deacon who moderates.

They make footsie pajamas for a reason. People buy them!

Nalod you are a real joke. But I won't let you rain on my parade. I've been a knicks fan since the early 60"s I hung out with Fraizer, and Monroe, as a matter of fact me an Earl Monroe are friends. I seen the Bernard King era the Ewing era The good and the bad and let me tell you something you may not like Melo but over 90% of the fans do. That's why they pay big money to go see him play. If you don't like him I can't help that and if you put up a You Hate Melo blog I wouldn't even go on it to contest that. So what ever you say I will just laugh it off and reconize you for who you are and just move on. Put up your own Feel better blog you can hate Melo all you want to. But remember one thing. MELO IS THE ALFA MALE ON THIS TEAM AND THE LEADER NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU HATE. OVER 90% OF US ENJOY HIM.

Papa,

DOn't take it personal, your a good dude and its not always a personal attack. We have hung out here long enough and for most we don't attack each other, just what we say. Your first statement was what it was. Thats it, nothing more.

I don't disagree with a thing you just said. I do like melo. I just don't worship him as if he has accomplished anything. He is the alpha on this team. DON't lump me with TKF.

MElo is not in the same conversation as Walt, Earl or Patrick. There body of work AS KNICKS are far more substantial! You can't argue that can you? To do so degrades them.

Bernards body of work was two good seasons for the knicks where he had some MOMENTS. It was a small sample but it yielded some nice moments. What makes him special was he really blossomed when he got to NY where his time in Jersey and GS was not nearly as good. Melo was an allstar before he got here for 6 years.

90% of knick fans pay to see melo? Seems like the teams attendance has been fine for years. NOt saying they go to hate on him, but I hope in the MEcca they don't play that starphuck thing too much. I'd would not be happy to see a game and hiim not play. HE is fun to watch!

Your parade is not getting rained on, it just hasn't started yet. If we win a chip, then i'll shower him with confetti too!

Papabear Says

Nalod I respect that and I respect you for putting it that way. It make since the way you feel.Sometime a person have to sit back and listen to what a person is really saying. You know how I feel and now I know how you feel and I respect that. One thing for sure we both are yearning for a championship right now. You deserve it and so do I and everyone else on this forum. Peace

Melo is the greatest all around Knick since Patrick Ewing. That alone is enough to support Melo with everything I have. And as a kid born in New York, raised in Baltimore with New York bloodline? He always dreamed of leading the New York Knicks to greatness and now we're only 1 game back of the #1 seed during Melo's first full season with our Knicks. He forced his way out of Denver for our Knicks. The greatest Knick since Ewing, a phenom scorer and not even Ewing could score the rock at Melo's clip/rate. With all that said, I loved Ewing with everything I had but Melo is greatness as well.

Nalod had a serious man crush on Gallo...He is probably still smarting a bit after "the trade"...And who can blame him, Gallo had great hair...Not to mention Mozgov...Melo is going to have to work hard to make up for all that thwarted passion...No MVP or Jersey retirement party for u...Personally, I could care less about Jersey retirements and MVP talk ...I care about what the team does as a whole...So I simply ignore the chatter...That bar seem a little high for some folks...But this is fun tho..We need Nalod, Bonn and the others ...Otherwise this would be a boring place with a singular thought/outlook on the team and its players...Sometimes it does provoke thought and other times it just downright malicious...But it's all good, it adds to a good forum...

I got League Pass, I can watch Gallo if I want to!

What can I say, I root for home grown talent and can't just discard them to bring in a player I really was not a fan of.

Your princess is gone so everything is a fairy tale.

Sounds about right.

Really? HOw many times we going to do this?

Fable: "Melo is a knick and he will win a championship for us"

The sad thing is, as papa no doubt gets, is this is all tongue in cheek stuff. I have watched perhaps 10 min a Nuggs game here and there. Maybe your lumping on the "Other games thread" were there are two posters who bring up Rockets and Nuggs games.

once upon a time Clyde got traded to the Cavs. His knees were going and he wanted to still play. Would you have "good riddenced" him? No, Gallo is no Clyde for sure but my point is he was here as a 19 year old rookie and had some hype and promise to him.

When the player who came for clyde, "Jim Cleamons" no body hated on him but he had to prove himself worthy. HE never really panned out.

Melo is earning his KNICK stripes. What he did in denver is for Nugg fans to enjoy the memory.

Thats my take, whats yours anji?

do you think that's far fetched? if so, please explain. it's not like the claim was melo is the better overall player. personally, I think melo is the better SCORER and season ticket have been in the family for over two decades. bernard king is the only knick I can think of who might have been the better SCORER than melo

Gallo was MDA's pretty boy. The bestest shooter eva.

If it wasn't for MDA who was it that we would have drafted, in retrospect? That draft didn't exactly suck.
It hasn't been spoken of because Gallo did relatively nothing on the Knicks. He defended Melo that one game that we won. That's it. That's his most memorable Knick moment. You want to compare or even draw parallels to the legendary Clyde ? Come on

Lets play the hindsight game again?

Ok, go ahead and pick the players after Gallo and justify? Easy to do 5 years later.

If you take a moment I clearly covered Gallo-clyde.

The point it to blindly fall in love with an high scoring allstar before he even put on the uniform. Thats what all this is about.

As a scorer Bernard King was awesome. Look at his career and legend in NYC, he had a 21ppg, 24ppg, then 32.9ppg until he blew his knee 6 games into his 4th season. I saw many of those games but it was the third season that really became legend. That is what we remember, and those back to back 50pt games. I watched both games. He was a machine. When he blew his knee out the team was 24-36 and we lost the last 12 games that season. He returned late the next season to play 6 games at the end and avg 22 pts in those games.

Another prolific scorer was Bob McAdoo who avg'd about 26 pts per in his three years here. about what melo is doing over 3 seasons to date.

Bernard coming "Home" was to little fanfare because his career was underachieving before he got here. McAdoo was bought in with great hype.

So when we got Melo this knick fan was not about to bow before Mooby and get too excited. Bernard was a great story and we did not have to gut the team.

Nobody we traded Melo for was nearly beloved like clyde, but the trend here of late is to "rid" ourselves of players who were knicks and disgard them for the new savior who in my opinion has to earn his colors first before he gets any kind of "love".

don't know about anji, but:

Fables: posters on a Knicks fan site hyped about a prolific scorer added as a legit starphucque to our first legit starphucque. Possible whiffs of chips included with your free Melo Home Again Cookies.

Facts: Somber reality about "potenshull" and home grown 19 year-olds who barely escaped their first summer league alive. Non-descript low first round draft picks who have flashy knicknames and barely any flashes of highlights. The sweet residue of low grade highs from the years of Walshian cap space building and draft picking that allows the hoop puritan to dream of building a team "the right way". Always hated Home Again, or This Old House, or anything that smacks of "Home-rism"

Fables: Dayum near 30 ppg evoke memories of BK. A beast who scores effortlessly and effort-filled with mean spirited put backs and passes in the lane and out to the perimeter. Smiles. Headband. Mimicing the Sheed (he with a chip) "celebration". The Mamba calls him "a bull".

Facts: Centrist resolve to wait and watch and wait and watch some more. Sneers at the premature ejaculatory MVP chants. Jeers at
the fast start and the homeristic orgasms it spawned. Wait and watch. Observe. 1st in this joke of a division? Big effing deal. Bare percentage points behind the Hate? Means less than nothing. When the chip arrives, then and only then, will a smile appear. Maybe. Right now, StarManbooby is more BS than bull. Honestly, sincerely, will only admit to watching a certain number of Nuggs, Rockettes, or even [gulp] cRaptor games...
