Most PGs seem to shoot 40%-42% these days, unfortunately. Its one of the things that makes Irving stand out- I think he was shooting about 47% in his rookie season- pretty impressive.

That's not true. That's a list of every point guard in the league ranked by FG%; you have to scroll down to 28th, Mike Conley, to find the first PG shooting worse than 43%.

Raymond Felton - 58th in Shooting, 16th in assists, 38th in 3-Pointers, 24th in Steal, 74th in TOs - INCREDIBLE.
And there's a 35 page thread on him.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Didn't Felton and also Alan Hahn say that he preferred to pass, but the defense started playing him differently, meaning they took away the pass and kind of forced him to shoot?

Well isn't that part of being aggressive equation..Taking the shot when given...

Ray shot a lot better before his injuries...The number that really matters is 20-8 when he is in the line up..How many other PG's can match that??..

It's about taking good shots that you can hit consistently. We could build our offense around Tyson Chandler 3-pointers and he'd be open every time, doesn't mean it would help us win games.

There are 33 PGs with enough attempts to qualify in ESPN's ranking of points per shot. Of those 33, you know where Felton ranks? Here's a hint: if he has a really hot streak, he may be able to move up to 32nd! He's actually not even remotely close to 32nd (1.06 vs. 0.96).
http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/player/_/stat/field-goals/sort/scoringEfficiency/position/point-guards

What this is saying is that each time he shoots the ball, his team gets less in return than any other team gets from shots by their PGs.

yes but Kidd rarely shoots. I'm more impressed with Paul & Parker being #2 & 3

Yeah, those players are definitely more impressive but what Kidd's doing is still excellent.

Partially but not entirely. Knicks need a real PG outside of Kidd who may be playing his final year and can't play big mins anymore

Yep, and it's all because of Felton the rest of the team has nothing to do with it. That's why his teams in Charlotte and Portland were always so good.
