Amare needs to wait as long as it takes to get to that level where he can be effective.

Rushing back to prove anything to the skeptics, or anyone else, is a waste of his rehab.

There are no saviors. Only assists, deflections and rebounds.

I agree. Amare goes all out all the time. If he is still hurting or not recovered he should be kept off of the court.

Amar'e is a soldier. 80 per cent during the regular season is no place to restart a career.

The only thing that would prevent Stoudemire from suiting up for a franchise-revival playoff game at 85 per cent would be a maximum security room in Mumbai.

Willis limped out at 19 per cent and drained two jumpers that changed the course of history.

That is what soldiers do.

Please don't put Willis and Amare in the same paragraph regarding any heroic action.

Too bad history does not have the accurate depiction of Clyde painting a masterpiece game (37 and 19 dimes)nor an MVP to show for it. Not to diminish Willis heroic few minutes on court and doing a mind Phuch on Wilt and the lakers that they did not recover from.

Amare and his prideful self getting on the court with wonderful sound bites from a good man who wants to be out there. Reading between the lines if he can't re-injure himself and can play thru the pain back into shape then let him play.

The 85% that Lin had coming off injury and dump him into a playoff game would have been stupid. Amare at 85% with 50 games to go is ok because he comes in as a role player and its not the playoffs.

Willis @ 19% and the impact of those jumpers was huge. I can still see the replay over and over, and this stubby nets on the rims they used then with the ball barley going thru them! Great moment!

Lets hope Amare's return can be the "Stage rocket" to further the Knicks season into a deeper orbit as a true contender. I like this team but its not quite that kind of elite team. Amare can take it higher. Or not. SHump will be nice but his contribution could be the glue type player successful teams need. Good defense, 10pts, 4 dimes in 25 min a game and that would go a long way!

He's going to sit out the whole season and then save us in the playoffs? I am a homer Supreme, but are we talking about Mr. Fire Extinguisher here?

More likely he'd come out of the tunnel and tear up his back during warm ups.

Nalod - The sentences mentioning Amare and The Captain were separated with the appropriate punctuation to prevent any custard pie fights. No paragraphs were harmed in the filming of that post.

The best part of Willis' entrance was the jumper he hit in warmups. The crowd erupted and Clyde took the cue with his best game ever.

Just for men.

I really did not mean the impact of the first statement that you were diluting Willis or inflating Amare.

No Autopsy. No Foul.

Nalod - given your appreciation of Knicks history, you understand that in order to win a ring, someone must be stubborn enough to ignore the demons of intense pain and walk on the court as if they are 100 per cent.

As the Knicks and Lakers split the first four games, Reed had scored 37, 29, 38 and 23 points while averaging 15 rebounds.

The moment Willis walked out of the tunnel, the Lakers stopped warming up. The best part of the game was before the opening tip. Wearing his pristine white warmup jacket and pants, Reed ambled to the free throw line, received a pass from no one and drained a jumper.

"When I saw Willis finally come out, I got so pumped up, I thought: 'He's here. He's here. He's here.' And I thought, 'If he can fly, so can we."

- Bill Bradley

The noise shook the foundation of the building all the way to the basement. The electricity spiked. Two locomotives, pulling the express to Philadelphia, immediately stalled. Spike Lee, seated in the blue seats, claimed the pinwheel roof rotated 19 degrees.

In addition to his 36 points, Frazier's line read: 44 minutes, 12 of 17 field goals, 12 of 12 free throws, 19 assists, 7 rebounds.

“They’ll be fine together. They’ve both played at a high level in this league. They’ll figure it out.

- Mike Woodson

Amar'e could very well be done as an elite athlete. Lift is not something that returns gracefully. When your hops leave, they leave. They are gone like your first crush. Sometimes, without leaving a note.

Next reporter who asks whether Amar'e and SuperMelo can get along with each other gets popped.

Hell yea! You gotta look at some big teams that will eat it, (I'm looking at you, LAKERS!),

Makes too much sense for me, Amar'e Pau straight up

I thought Amare's post up hook shot was his best shot of the game. If he can develop that shot, he will score easily and consistently in the paint....also liked his defensive effort. Would like to see him grab more rebounds and set better picks.

I liked his bank shot. Still figuring out the post moves. It will be interesting to see where Stat is in the rotation in a month from now.

It never stops!- the "Amar'e is garbage and is untradeable- therefore we must trade him, but wait a minute- he's untradeable!" cyclical argument of futility that seems to have become a permanent part of this board.

He needs to stay healthy anyway possible to put up some sort of stats to up his value.

His contract isn't tradeable now, but hopefully he plays enough games so that in a couple years we can move him.

Well stated. Amar'e Stoudemire is the type of warrior that is not traded. If he leaves, he goes out on his terms. A writer like Mark Berman is compelled to mention his contract with every article. That helps to sell newspapers and fuel resentment.

Reporter: "Hey Carmelo, can you and Amar'e coexist?"

Sheed: "Both teams played hard my man"

He's not untradable I think he has value to some teams, like the Lakers because of D'Antoni and because they can eat his contract

Amar'e a warrior?

No way

Guy is more a woman than a warrior,

"I gained 20 lbs"

"I grew 2 inches over the summer"

"No one taught me defense"

Guy just talks and doesn't act enough,

He's gonna go to the dusts of history soon enough
