We're 4th in Hollinger's Power Rankings.

If we could get a completely healthy Camby back, that would be huge.

Its weird, reading the forums here I thought the Nets played a weak schedule, but their SOS was higher than ours.

3-5th is about right for us right now.

Miami lost to Wiz. They not in a good way right now. We beat them with out melo. Its a combo of our team playing real good, and they are out of wack!

Going into the first meeting the Knicks Sch was tougher. Obviously playing us, Boston, OKC, the Heat and the up rising GState Warriors has increased the quality of teams they have played.

Probably why they are losing now too.

They kept it very close against two very good teams. That justifiably increases their ranking a little. Are you objecting to Hollinger's power rankings?

I wasn't ialking the power ranking, i was talking about the strength of schedule nolad was pointing out. Just explaining why people were saying ours was higher back then, but the Nyets is higher now.

I think the objecting against anything that isn't blind cheering for the Knicks.

Looks like not much has changed during my time off. Same absurd "Can't say anything bad about the Knicks or anything good about anyone else" thought police is out in full force. It does provide a certain level of comfort to be back amongs such an august gathering of irrational homers.

I agree the homerism is nauseating at times but it goes both ways when others glorify Dantoni, Denver and the Nyets. Especially the Nyets who are floundering now that they are finally playing good teams

Ah, I think I will participate at a more fringe level. The few weeks of lay off helped me regain perspective. As much as I love the Knicks they are a basketball team, and I dont want them to take over 35% of my time ..... Let the homers do what they do.

Im going to have to attempt similar.

The other day:

Mrs Nalod: Hey hon. whats up on the UK?

Nalod: argue. Same old....

Mrs. Nalod: About what? Team doing well right?

Nalod: Homers vs. the Sombers vs the haters

Mrs. Nalod: What are you?

Nalod: I think somber, Homers are too giddy with over exuberance, Haters, and there are very few BTW, don't see melo's imporovement. I guess in the middle?

Mrs Nalod: What about the Nets?

Nalod: Homers can't read straight if you bring it up. Can talk about other teams but bring in Nets they get very pissy.

Mrs. Nalod: what are you arguing?

Nalod: how to argue?

Mrs. Nalod: Tell Marv and DJ I said hello1

Nalod: They left hon. too much arguing over the same thing.

Mrs. Nalod: They got lives?

Nalod: Marv I think found love, DJ likes the blue eyed italian in Toronto. He a raptor fan!

Mrs. Nalod: Ultimate Raptors?

Nalod: something like that?

Mrs. Nalod: Humph!

Nalod: Whaaat?

Mrs. Nalod: I got you a "brooklyn net" shirt for christmas! maybe I should return it! I thought you were going to the dark side!

Nalod: Put it away for next year. Never know!

Mrs. Nalod: Why you gotta say it? fence sitting hon? HumpH! I know what to do with it!

Nalod: Ok hon, just a minute...... what ever.....

(the ever so fine Ms. Nalod cuts the mid drift off, puts it on with nothing else and walks in the room)

Mrs Nalod: Howz my power ranking now? Enough to go all the way?

Nalod: "Hello Brooklyn"!

Who's glorified MDA, Denver, or the Nets? We tried to have a discussion in another thread about how Woodson has adapted some of MDA's offensive philosophy for this team, just like Poppovich and Coach K have, that's all. 99% of the time the only reason Denver, or Lin, is brought up is so other people can call out others and gloat. And, for the most part, the only reason the Nets have been talked about is in relation to the Knicks and our playoff position. The closest thing we've seen to glorification are statements about how Prokhorov is a better owner than Dolan, not exactly something that Knick fans should be up in arms about

It's still early but if you rank the eastern conference by point differential, it is very striking. The Knicks are at +8.5 per game and the next closest team (Atlanta) is at +3.2! In the West, the top 3 are OKC (+9.6), Memphis (+8.0), and SAS (+7.6).
Note that the Lakers - at +3.6 - are likely much better than their 9-11 record suggests; their expected record based on point differential is 12-8. (And that's without Nash.)

The clippers are playing very well too. They're 13-6 and they've had the toughest schedule in the league.
