Yes, please. This is a no brainer. Pau will at least make an effort on D and rebounding. Our team is not struggling for scorers. Amare clashes with Melo. Both are scorers with limited defensive upside. Pau fits better.

This is a win. Not sure why LA would do it though.

Deal isn't likely but I wont say it's impossible.

Gasol and Artest
for
Amare and Thomas

Probably would have to include Shumpert too.

JR, RashWeed and Metta World "War" on the same team is epic!

As shtty as Gasol is playing and he can use new scenery--why the hll would the Lakers trade for a hurt player--a player who might not ever play again? The Lakers are in deep disarray--no dobt about that but have to give Kobe some credit the guy is sick doenst have to play and at 35 years old goes 40-10.

it was a BS rumor to begin with. Check who the source is and you'll realize that its all fantasy land.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Knicks lie, or lets say often delete the truth. I don't think we have read he has even been on the court to practice.

Don't discount the thought. Knicks rarely tell the truth so you have to consider what Briggs is saying.

Gasol is a better post player, rebounder and defender. He can assist too. Stoudemire is always hurt, can't defend and doesn't complement Anthony. What's the holdup???

Sadly, I'm sure this is just a rumor. Why in the world would the Lakers make this trade?

Holdup? They have said from the beginning December/January for his return.

Gasol is decent but he has flaws too. He is kind of soft.

Healthy Amare > Healthy Gasol

Lakers cant play around since Howard can walk this summer.

on the offensive end only. Unfortunately there is much more to the game than scoring. Gasol is the better defender, a better shot blocker, the better passer and has been the more durable of the two.

Also, the rumor is BS. The source here is always wrong.

Pau is playing through tendinitis in his knees. Love the dude but that just dropped his value big time for me.
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

I think D'Antoni would prefer to have Jamison in the starting lineup rather than Gasol. I also see that Jordan Hill minutes have deteriorated since he took over- guess he holds a grudge!

All I know..two 7 footers don't work in this league anymore, if your PF can't stretch the D, its gonna get clumsy in the paint..

Gasol has look terrible next to Howard, and it started from day 1 in the preseason..Amare hasn't look much better playing next to tyson and Amare (imo) has more range and is comfortable shooting from 18/20 ft..

While gason has the abilty to stretch the d, he is not as comfortable shooting from out there, and prefers the paint..

The NBA is in a small ball league era...One big is fine
