Basketball fans that are decent only care about the playoffs? I have sympathy/pity for your circle of known "fans". Maybe decent, mildly interested sports fans only care about the NBA when the playoffs arrive.

I suppose decent fans only really care about the last 4 minutes of each game, right?

This reminds me of the logic of NY sportstalk radio, where people opine endlessly about the death march length of the NBA regular season, while talking about hot stove baseball in November.

If you are a fan of basketball, I would imagine being decent would include caring about the regular season. Just like caring a little about a Yankee 7 game homestand in May... But that's just me...

What's also amusing is how much this sample size would mean to the most vocal on this board if we were 0-4...

0-4 would be the polar opposite of 4-0.

IN both cases its seems a bit extreme.

But thats NY.

I like wins as much as anyone but looking forward one has to understand the nature of the Ebb and flow of the game and that teams will make adjustments, as will we.

Which makes the games so enjoyable.

........feels good to me....

Ha, actually I think you did!- I seem to vaguely remember you saying last season that Woody or Melo would drive him away or that the Knicks didn't want him back and I said you were being ridiculous. Looks like I was wrong again!

Power Rankings still don't mean anything, but when was the last time we were ranked #1 in something that did not involve overpriced contracts or team turmoil?

http://www.nba.com/2012/news/powerrankings/11/12/week2/index.html?ls=nbahpfull1

1 New York (4-0)
Pace: 93.5 (25), OffRtg: 112.2 (1), DefRtg: 93.2 (2)
The Knicks' perimeter shooting cooled off on Friday, and they still won. So there are no asterisks next to their 4-0 start. But they will have their toughest challenge to date with a back-to-back in San Antonio and Memphis on Thursday and Friday this week. Ronnie Brewer was already a bargain at the minimum, but if he can continue to hit corner threes (he's 6-for-10 so far), that's huge.

#1 in offensive rating, #2 in defense.

(ESPN has us ranked #2 http://espn.go.com/nba/powerrankings/_/year/2013/week/2)

I make coffee mugs with inspirational statements for a living!

Not.

Key word is "Polar". Knick fans rabid depressed as they are rabid with unabashed enthusiasm in this win streak.

OMG, imagine if we lose the game against Orlando?

Dudes got the rush to the loins already anticipating 5-0 and dreams of first place dancing in their head!

Its all good!

In Melo we trust!

Noah is leading his team in blocks AND steals. Impressive.

Tyson better step it up if he wants a repeat DPOY.

We're Number 1!!!

Imagine the polarity of the frigid Melohate were the opposite to be true?
See the Sad Six triumphantly re-re-re-revisiting all we gave away. Shades of wishing for the glad old days of ECurry and Stephon! Many multiples of black and white threads pumping into all forums at once! The start of a Walshian Knick Fans Defect to Indiana thread!

We have others to trust besides Melo! JR, the post-game talking head of the Knicks Defense! That's right, I said JR Smith talking D-FENSE!!! Saying things like: "Strong side! Weak side! Communication like I never seen before!" Who was the sick shot-selecting masked man?!?!????

Print it, label it, watch and enjoy the professional growth!

I'm real curious about Memphis... I wonder how effective Melo will be as a 4 against them. If he can handle Memphis then I think he's no longer a SF

I bet he doesn't play the four and is moved back to the three.

that's what Woody said a tthe beginning of the year... but I wonder... things have looked good so far

Now that we've beat the cream and the crap of our conference, it's on to the Spurs and a real test!

Road game against one of the NBA's best.

As long as we keep it close through out and finish strong I'll be happy.

Naturally a win is great but as a fan Im looking for consistency and focus on both ends.

San Antonio is coming off a battle with LA and needed a 3 from Danny Green with 9 seconds left to eek it out.

Hopefully we can battle them to the end, grind it out, and come away with one at the end.

It's either going to be a close one or if it somehow gets out of hand in the Spurs favor, Woody may call the dogs off to get ready for Memphis.

So when does the thread devaluing our beat down wins over Philly in the wake of them getting destroyed by the DeeT-RHOID Pissed-ons appear?

I hate tony parker. He always makes speed and layups look so effing easy. I wonder how close we ever were to actually getting him? Guess he's not far enough or near enough to the downside of his career...

It might have something to do with me hating the French, for no particularly logical reason. Maybe it was the Dreyfus affair. I hated that whole thing. Having lived through it.

I hate Pop too, only because he's good. And he's not our coach. Although having Tim Duncan has to help your coaching alot.

I'm still speechless...

So proud of our ballclub right now. Knicks teams of past would've folded on the road easily when down 12 in the 4th.

This feels great!!!!!
