I see your point, but do you have more faith in him staying healthy, considering his already injured knee and the fact that he takes a beating when going to the rim?
houston has been using him a bit different, he is picking his spots.. he hits the floor a lot less... the thing with lin is his handle, that is what he should be working on all summer.. if that improves drastically, I can see him as one of the top PG's in the league... he has great size, good explosion and good vision, his jumper is also getting better...
He shot 2 for 7 yesterday. 
do you know if he made two jumpers and missed 5 layups? shooting 2-7 doesn't really tell me much.. I have watched all of the games, and his shot looks good.... actually there was a play when he drove the ball, was fouled, no call, missed the layup, got the ball back, missed the put back in traffic.. there are two misses right there... If you watch him play, his jumper is looking better...
