Merchandising Can Wait
"...the NBA unveiled their Christmas Day jerseys yesterday. These had previously been leaked via video game, of course, but it’s nice to see better views of them. Would’ve been nicer still if they’d put uni numbers on most of the jerseys, but whaddaya gonna do.
There’s absolutely zero reason for these jerseys to exist (well, unless you count merchandising as a valid reason), so they’re stupid by definition. But from a strictly aesthetic standpoint, I have no problem with them — they’re nice. Well, except maybe for the Knicks’ design, but I’ll wait to see it on the court before saying for sure."

The main problem with the Knicks X unis is they are a lazy design without much thought. If there was any respect for the brand the "New York" would not "fade to Bolivian". It would be lettered (and numbered) in silver or the same shade of grey in Shump's adidas.
There would be a secondary color, preferably the gray from the new palette, as blue and white are too harsh in combination. Orange as a primary color is simply too garish to be associated with the artistic history and style traditions of New York. May as well have given the design to a graffiti artist.
At least the result would have been authentic. As it stands, our uni is just a glob of melted candy corn.
