LOL melo needs help. you do realize he was instrumental in creating this entire situation... right?

Enough with blaming him for the trade. Its silly.

It is not a blame Melo thread.
It is accountability thread.
Melo is now solely responsible for the fortunes of the Knicks club.
This is a honor and a responsibility.
If he will put his talent and soul into it and make it for a great run (like Pat and other Knicks greats) he will be the King on NYC.
If he will fail the team will fail with him.
Yes - he will need help but is is up to him to play and act the way other players, coaches, and fans will be able to help him.

I do not disagree with this. He will go as they go. Get the fame and the blame, and that is fair since that is what star players need to live with. That is why they get paid.

Its not always fair but thats life. He is not playing with Lebron, Wade, Shaq, KG, Duncan ... but that is life. Life is not always fair.

if he is in fact not playing with players equal to or better than he is then it's his own fault for creating a situation that results from his equating himself with those players he considers himself equal to or better than.

he got paid the max-- more than his actual worth whether he or his fans realize this-- and he enabled the decimation of the team he wanted to come to-- the decimation also being more than his actual worth... whether he or his supporters realize this-- because of a level of greed and an ego that were bigger than his actual skill and talent level.

all the negative shyt up to now and going forward traces itself back to his decisions and those of his business partners, dolan being primary among them, and including his moronic posse and ignoramus wife.

injuries to fellow players are part of melo's karma.

"not always fair" is a copout.

A lot of fans are failing Melo even before he actually failed.
It is not fair but telling.
He dig himself a huge hole and will need to put a lot of work to get out of it.
I am not talking about money - he get a max he can get.
I am talking about legacy and greatness. Not sure if he cares about it.
Not sure too many do in todays NBA anyways.
Money, greed, fame (even for being silly), and ego are rulling the day.
My facination of the Knicks team before Melo trade was about a bunch of people who love the game.
Same was my feelings during Linsanity.
The current Melo-team will need to win me back somehow... will see..

if he isn't (a) interested in winning and (b) able to lead a team to winning then how will he be able to win you back?

how can you be considered a winner when you haven't devoted yourself to being in supreme shape, devoted yourself to being a top flight defender, devoted yourself to making all the hustle plays, devoted yourself to putting the right situation above money?

Not interested in winning? Uh ... how did you derive this?

What playoff series did you feel like he did not give it his all? Maybe he could have done better, shot better ... but did he not give it his all?

Maybe he would be better off being on IR. Some fans like players better when they are IR - ahem.

Every player wants to win. Melo is not an exeption.
The level of sacrefice is what makes a difference.
So far in his NBA run Melo was playing for Melo.
Now he is in the position to prove othervise.

We will see it soon enough so no point to argue.

and so far he is failing.. He chose money over a better team

He ran dantoni out of town because dantoni didn't want to play melo ball...

He ran lin out of town because lin didn't want to play melo ball..

He was given a chance since day one.. so far he has been failing.... par for the course...

Now this is BS and I am sure you probably know that.

He is not the Knicks GM or Denvers. If the knicks decided to stupidly overpay, he was not the one who made that decision and the dopes that think he was are just that. Dopes.

Who is better than him on the team? And please don't give me a biased haters view. Lets discuss marketability around the league.

He has many faults and we know who's league he is not it - we don't need to regurgitate that. Top 15? Top 20? Sounds good - who cares.

I am not even a big Melo fan, I just hate bs arguments. I could care less if they traded him tomorrow (for fair value).

Did Ewing cripple this franchise? If yes, do you hate him for it? He did not make the dumb Rice trade. Let's not give these pawns to much credit.

stop with this argument that he isn't the GM.. if melo tells denver I am not signing the extension but waiting until the offseason to sign with the knicks.... it ends there... period.. Denver traded him because he asked out! and he limited the teams he would resign with, therefore limiting denvers ability to make a fair deal....

this is not a BS argument but a BS defense you guys are making for him.. if you are not a big melo fan you sure had me fooled...

It has nothing to do with being a fan. Its about defending biased arguments. You are judging him for something that all or most players would have done to protect their contract. You want to say that athletes are selfish? They have so much money already so who cares? Maybe one day you will be a rich man and get it. Rich people want more and more and more money, its addicting.

He thought he had a better chance to win with Amare then with Denver or NJ. Boy was he flat wrong about Amare.

Melo is very talented and can certainly win. He is NOT my type of player but as you know, neither is Kobe. They are both selfish players - my type of player is Wade, CP3 ... DWil was on my list but of late, he was removed since he became more the selfish type in NJ.

Can you win with a selfish star? Yes you can, but that does not make them Dwayne Wades.

very well put... part of the reason melo is here and this team is old and decimated has to do with HIM!!!

Tired of hearing "melo needs help"... heck isn't that what we were saying about amare and the kids.. get them some help? instead we get rid of them..

well melo needs help, lets at least be consistent and get rid of him.. right?

this is simple Dk.. melo is not a guy you build around.. simple and plain, denver tried for 9 years... they tried.... they found out what some of us already knew.... Don't build around this guy...... It is not hate, just and opinion based on years of evidence..

I have found it to be odd that carmelo always finds himself in situations where "he needs help".. how is that possible?

Interesting that Denver tried hard to resign him. Hhhhmmmmmm

that means nothing.. denver signed nene and traded him right away... teams are not stupid, at least teams outside of MSG..... denver didn't want to let him walk for nothing.. they knew there are some sucker teams out there they could sell his max contracts to.. why not resign him.. they resigned nene and shipped him off pronto... they resigned aflalo and traded him.. had melo resigned denver could have traded him anywhere they wanted .. which is why they tried.. not because they felt that had to have this guy that led them nowhere in 9 years!!

rofl at the "hmmmmmmm" you really thought you had me there. .didn't ya.. I was anticipating that answer weeks ago homie..

Who knows where Melo would have ended up if we hadnt traded for him. For all we know he could have ended up on the Lakers or Clippers.

Everyone thought Howard was a lock for Brooklyn. Look where he is now? Who would have thought Chris Paul would be a Clipper.

We got out star we just need some solid pieces around him.

Kobe was a selfish prick and we all know why and how we won. Once again, please read his coaches book and also read up on what his co-HOFer had to say about him. I am not sure why you have such a hard time thinking in a multidimensional way. Btw, did you watch him in the olympics?

Can you win with a selfish star? Yes you can, but that does not make them Dwayne Wades.

this doesn't fly...can't be selfish and then cry about not having help.. kobe has won, many times.. he is not relevant to this conversation.... lebron had a chance to join up and win, he took less money.. that is sacrafice, and I am not a fan of the "decision".... can't have your cake and eat it...

He thought he had a better chance to win with Amare then with Denver or NJ. Boy was he flat wrong about Amare.

really? but he didn't think that he would have a much better chance with amare and gallo, and chandler and felton and moz and the picks, than just amare and a decimated team? really?

carmelo didn't give one got damn about amare.. he came to NY for the shine, for both he and his no talent wife, and he wanted the money, first and foremost...... Had dolan just let walsh do his job carmelo would have went to NJ.. simple and plain....

And you know this how? This is the silliest argument/tactic I've seen - stop this nonsense already.

Kobe was a selfish prick and we all know why and how we won. Once again, please read his coaches book and also read up on what his co-HOFer had to say about him. I am not sure why you have such a hard time thinking in a multidimensional way. Btw, did you watch him in the olympics?

LOL.. my lord dude.. so what if kobe is a selfish prick..... if you are going to be that.. Be great at what you are doing.... I know a doctor who is a prick, but he is great, if my life is on the line, I want to be on that PRicks table.. end of story..

Kobe the prick has 5 rings.. and no shaq didn't get him all 5 rings.... Kobe the prick is a 14 time all star, two time finals MVP( I guess shaq got him that right?) 10 time all NBA first team... 9 time all NBA defensive first team...

Your legs just don't break because you don't drink Milk one morning. The Knicks have been robbed of big time talent for years, way before they tried to get LBJ.

I'm glad Melos here now and not in Brooklyn because we let him hit free agency and Utah called the Nets because of all the assets they have first.

Melo wanted the Max. He will go anywhere where the Max is provided.
Max and NY as a bonus was great. Good for Melo and his agent.
Good job.

Uh ... should he not want the max? Are you being serious?

should he not want the best team around him to win.. if given the choice which one do you think he should choose? tell me, less money and a better team, or more money and a decimated team? I will let you answer that one..

most basketball fans don't understand making the team you are going to better by taking a hit to the wallet. they think it is a no-brainer that you should get the top dollar amount NO MATTER WHAT THE CONSEQUENCES. as though there is no real choice here.

i'd be very interested to hear how many around here endorse anthony's values on this subject.

If they signed as a threesome, I am sure they would have taken less.

Why didn't Amare take less to leave room for others? I curious to here if you endorse his values. I am guessing - yes.

i'd be very interested to hear how many around here endorse anthony's values on this subject.

If they signed as a threesome, I am sure they would have taken less.

Why didn't Amare take less to leave room for others? I curious to here if you endorse his values. I am guessing - yes.

amare signing didn't cost the knicks 5 players and multiple picks..

Lucky about what? that they are supremely talented? No

That they got to play with top flight HOFers like Shaq, Lebron, Wade, Gasol? Yes - they can thank their organizations for being competent and not making dumb signings that they would NEVER make - like Amare.

And yes ... Kobe alienated Shaq and PJax. Don't know why this is even a discussion.

or you can say the top flight HOFers got to play with them..... gasol was not a HOF player.. not before he came to play with Kobe, who was already established... there is no way to escape this bro.... adding gasol to carmelo doesn't get you rings.. adding wade to carmelo gets you nothing,..... the key is not getting carmelo help, but actually getting carmelo to help someone and he has shown that he really isn't in the business of helping anyone else but himself...

all conjecture that you are unable to qualify.

Can't say that he would win or is as good - I just can't/won't make statements like that unless I see it fail.

Spaghetti arguments will get you thrown out of court.

In the end, that is your argument. CONJECTURE / unqualified hot air.

I respect your hate / dislike for Carmelo. You have that right. However, using that to fit square arguments into round holes does not work.

Just say that you hate the guy - CASE CLOSED. No one can blame a fan for hating a player.

Time to settle down - we will go as far as Melo will take us.
