I think Amare being out of the starting lineup actually works out for us. There's been little evidence that he and Melo can play together and even less that Amare, Melo, and Tyson can play together. Moving, I would hope, Novak into the starting lineup and Amare to the bench would make us a better team.

We can tear it up in the regular season without Amare in the starting lineup. But for this team to go anywhere in the playoffs, we are going to need more punch, consistent punch. That is the problem. My hope now is that perhaps Camby gets more minutes and him and Chandler make us a defensive force. Then we don't miss stat as much. But again, once the playoffs come, we will need another scorer. I am curious about Copeland...

Bingo. I miss Lin

And Amare and his $20mil is not coming off the bench

Yeah, no. He's not going to have too much difficulty dealing with Felton.

Felton's boy Amare will soon be done for the year. Lin averages 20 & 10 in Houston. Knicks gets swept by Miami in the 1st round

I don't see how Amar'e being injured turns into a debate about Lin. LoL!

Amar'e being injured surely sucks and it's beyond annoying at this point.

Or ...

The knicks keep Lin, and he and Amare are both out of the playoffs with knee injuries.

Or ...

The knicks keep Lin, and he and Amare are both out with knee injuries often. They decide to try to package them both down the line and MSG is destroyed by the laugher of the knicks trying to move 35million dollars worth of knee injuries.

STAT was moving well before this injury. I can't get too crazy about this unless it turns into something more serious. If STAT was moving poorly or had no explosion that would scare me more. Gotta hope and pray for quick and complete healing. It's more important to have players at the end of the year than the 1st few games.
This is not about Lin or any other dumb side issue. It's crazy how any injury issue turns into wild stabs at unrelated issues. Just WAY too early to be panicking.

The worrying bit is:

It most commonly occurs if there is an underlying problem with your knee such as osteoarthritis.

Duh!! He has a knee problem? Really?

Worst knick move the past 5 years:

1. signing Amare
2. did not amnesty amare (I know, chandler blah blah blah) - was not worth it

lol..you would be lynch in front your home..Amnesty a guy you signed the previous yr..how incompetent is that

I dont think its time to panic however i still think amare off the bench will help him and the team better. It will give him a chance to be the main scoring option when melo is out and helps the second unit

its just money and the knicks would have done it if they could as would many other teams. Think of what they could have done with that 20 million.

Explain to me how it's better to have one scoring option when teams like Boston and Miami, who were competing against in the East, starts 3 scoring options...

Amare injured again...
