Give me Jason Kidd over Toney Douglass, Rasheed Wallace over Josh Harrellson, Ronnie Brewer way over Bill Walker, Pablo Prigioni over Mike Bibby and Marcus Camby over Jerome Jordan any day of the week.

Age ain't nothin' but a number.

Dallas had Dirk. Where is the Knicks Dirk? Detroit was truly the only team to win without hall of fame talent.

lakers
heat
celtics
spurs
bulls
rockets
pistons
sixers
knicks(1970 & 1973)

that pretty much covers 30yrs. Who knows how far that list can keep going if you wanted to extended for 40-50yrs?

well according to kidd, that is carmelo... but then again we all see kidd has been back to hitting the bottle again....

Absolutely agree. Douglas would be cut if he didn't have a moveable contract. I miss Jorts but he was cut in Houston and isn't a lock in Miami now that Pittman has upped his game. Bibby, Walker and soon Jordan will be out of the league. How many 15th men should a contending team hang onto to build for the future and hope that one turns into a rotation player?

Speaking of Dallas and Detroit, seems like we have alot of vital pieces from those teams:

Mike Woodson
Jason Kidd
Tyson Chandler
Rasheed Wallace

Never Call The Answer Man Dude, Dude

Q. tkf: I mean why isn't Hakeem still playing instead of teaching amare how to untangle his feet in the post?

A. Because he already has his ring and has nothing to prove.

Yeah - we need those draft picks so we can draft a few more Mike Sweetney's and Jordan Hills. At least if we trade them we can get some value

If we win it will be worth it for me because i'm a jets and mets and rangers fan so im prayign for a title from one of my teams

I know but they are not beating Lakers, Miami and OKC. Not in the next 3yrs

They could have gone in 20 different ways. They were not getting past those teams especially once they signed Amare who is in decline IMHO.

With that I agree. They did a great job getting a clean slate but the Amare signing was the beginning of a series of bad decisions that didn't end until Walsh left.

I think that "Knicks are old" stuff is overblown. We have veteans on the bench, and seasoned starters. I dig the crew that has ben compiled thus far, and am anxious to see them excel on the court this year.

All that haterade is coming from the usual media sources (So-called Knicks beat writers", BSPN analysts who drum up drama to get a check, etc.) who never have anything positive or optimistic to say about the Knicks anyway. I write 'em off and throw 'em out, just like real fans should do with any hater's venom.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

What positive and optimistic stuff should they have been saying over the past 10 years?

The media has found positive things to say about teams which have been inferior to the Knicks (the last two seasons), such as the Nets...

This is a new season with 13 new faces on the roster. The Answer Man suggests that any and all bitter beer faces, stuck in the past, should go suck on a lemon. The age thing is an easy headline for lazy writers.

If the usual media suspects wanted to impress us with their basketbal IQ's, they would be writing about how many assists Raymond Felton will drop on Carmelo and Amar'e combined.

Is Ronnie Brewer an upgrade over Landry Fields?

Yeah, maybe if we could contend for absolute worst record in the history of the league, and then make great platinum signings like Gerald Wallace and Joe Johnson, we'd be media darlings too.

And don't forget the good feelings everyone had during Linsanity...oooops, sorry guys.

That's right, ESPN had the "ch*nk in the armor" thing...

Knicks media policy the last decade has not exactly helped its case either.

Linsanity was a media creation and a world wide event.

If you did not see the N*t hype machine coming you don't read Nalod. I told it would be big. Its big beyond roster formations.

Prokhorov is boasting but thats to be expected.

Knicks take care of business on the court the media and N*t love are not factors.

If not, it gets ugly as usual. We've had 9 coaches over the last 13 years.

Maybe positive projections but not positive things about their performance over the last few years

Knicks core players (starters) are not old. Then bench is old but I think older vets playing limited minutes off the bench is fine.
Not as old as people say
