we dont know what they are? Last year injuries were a big problem. This year we have more veterans but i feel we have a identity now

They are the Knicks. The team with the most pressure on them to win don't know if the players can handle that kind of pressure. As Knicks fans we definitely need to curb our enthusiasm and wish for the best. I already know they aren't winning a chip this year. I don't expect much from the Knicks.

Honestly, I think we are more similar to the old Atlanta Hawks.

Felton = Hinrich
Joe Johnson = Melo
Josh Smith = STAT
Al Harford = Chandler
Marvin Williams = JR

Probably somewhere in between. I think we're much better than that Hawks team but not a championship level team. Maybe more like the 2011 or 2012 Celtics.

I still don’t see it; the 2011-2012 Celtics had Garnet and arguably the top defensive point guard in the NBA in Rondo, now the Knicks do have Chandler in the front, however, I don’t think we have the same defensive presence in the backcourt with Felton and JR, may be Shumpert someday (if he doesn’t get traded before).
As far as us being much better than that Atlanta Hawks team, I will wait for the Knicks record to answer that, this season.

Much better is an exaggeration but I think we'll be a little better. I think this team can make it to the conference finals, which I don't think the recent Hawks' teams did.

The Hawks won 47 and 53 gms respectively in back-to-back seasons. They advanced to the Semis in back-to-back Playoffs.... Are you saying the Knicks will win more than 45gms this year and next and advance past the Semis?

He said it in the quote.

I must admit than I’m curious to see what’s going to happen when one of our big is sideline due to injury and one of our old bench guys is force to play major minutes, also, whether those guys will have anything left in the tank comes playoff times . May be you are right, but we will see.

STFU, 49 wins???? I'm predicting a 2 seed and we shock the world and win it all. Phuck the Heat! Melo makes like Reed and limps out of the tunnel (is the tunnel even still there?) for game 6 of the Finals and we win it all in game 7 at LA! You read it here first!

How's that for homer-optimism?

Things are looking up in UKville when Bonn is being painted as an optimist. Even sarcastically.

I think we will be better than people think IF we are healthy. I mean we have two great defensive centers. Camby no longer has to play 30 minutes so that should keep him fresh. Melo/Amare both seem extra motivated to prove people wrong. Our pg situation is a lot better than it was last season. We have two point guards who could start and one backup prigani who is pretty good. I agree our window is small but if we are healthy i think we could compete against the heat. I mean we competed last year and that was with half our team injured

I think Grunwald has done an outstanding job cleaning up the mess he inherited. 3 through 10 I think the team is very good (assuming we're labeling Melo and Amare 1 and 2).

Who’s number 3 on the Knicks? Personally, I don’t think we have a legit 3rd option on this team.

This team reminds me of a slighty younger version of the 2000 Portland Trailer Blazers team, the one that should have beaten the Lakers in that epic 7 game series

What? Are you serious? That Portland Trail Blazers had the following roster

Rasheed Wallace
Steve Smith
Damon Stoudamire
Bonzi Wells
Scottie Pippen
Jermaine O'Neal
Brian Grant
Shawn Kemp
Rod Strickland
Arvydas Sabonis
And very old Detlef Schrempf

Sure we are just like them, just slightly younger and more athletic. Lol

Yes this Knick team is younger than the Blazers the reason I compared them is because of how much depth the Knicks have just like the Blazers had at every position
