Twins

Once we get past the old jokes the question remains - who backs up Amar'e after Kurt Thomas at the four?

Does Mike Woodson intend to deploy Carmelo as a power forward to take advantage of his quickness against lumbering types? If not, then Sheed (with about 8-12 quality cameo minutes) makes perfect sense. Kurt and Rasheed platoon as reserve fours and intimidate on defense in the tradition of the "no layups" old school Knicks.

6'11 Sheed and 6'9 Kurt share a rare gift. They can both pop out and hit a midrange jumper.

That is no laughing matter.

What a waste of a roster spot.

Answerman answered his own question. Yes, expect to see Melo get minutes at the 4 this year. And when it's not Amare or Melo, you'll see a platoon of Dirty Kurty, Cambyman, and Steve "Double Check" Novak.

Since he couldn't be a coach for us how about Ewing as a player instead?

Safe to say Woody cares only about coaching people who are at least as old as he is.

“I don’t know what the situation is, but he’s a great communicator on defense and we know he can knock down the open 3 and jump shot. I hope he comes here."

A. Wallace has vitiligo, a condition resulting from loss of pigment which makes white patches. Any part of the body may be affected.

Yes To Sheed.

Now we know why he gets so angry!

Rashweed over his "Tech" problem? I don't like when players get selfish and get T'd up when they can't keep it under control.

I saw a thing today where Spolestra was praising Pittman and saying he is in the best shape of his life. Could be trouble for Jorts. I thought that was the spot he was taking.

Our key players are in their prime years. The older vets we've added will be able to handle the lower minutes they'll have to play and IMO they can keep the level of play at a high level due to their talent and experience. I find it funny how everyone assumes that you have to be able to jump through the roof and run like a road runner just to be successful in this game. I can point to a bunch of players that could not run fast nor jump high that still played great using their head and skill. There's just so much more to BB than pure physical talent.

New York Knicks
POS STARTER 2ND 3RD 4TH
Point Guard Raymond Felton Jason Kidd Pablo Prigioni
Shooting Guard J.R. Smith Ronnie Brewer Iman Shumpert Chris Smith
Small Forward Carmelo Anthony Steve Novak James White Chris Copeland
Power Forward Amare Stoudemire Kurt Thomas
Center Tyson Chandler Marcus Camby

I think adding a guy like Rasheed would be great so long as he gets in shape. He won't have to play a lot but his minutes could be meaningful over an 82 game schedule and a long playoff run!!!

nixluva - excellent post. One small point of order, Sheed also has a championship ring. Ergo, he knows what it takes to earn one. Tyson Chandler and Jason Kidd also have the hardware that earns respect in the locker room. The veterans give our, "I'm Camby Dammit!" shiftline defensive balance and some scoring punch. Jason Kidd spotting Steve Novak for open looks will be a thing of beauty.

Once Ronnie Brewer and Iman Shumpert heal, then it gets interesting. Overall, the NYK defense will be tenacious and voracious.

Well no it's different because look at what we did here

We traded

Douglas
Jorts
Jordan
2014 2nd
2015 2nd
Paid Houston $2.1mil to cover Douglas salary

for

Camby paying him $10mil guaranteed of his 3yr $13.2mil contract

Camby's 40 like Gundy He's a man Jorts isn't

For this team, Camby makes much more sense than Jorts. When Chandler goes to the bench, we keep an anchor in the paint who is actually a better shot blocker and arguably a better rebounder than our starting center. Only thing Jorts adds is lowering our teams age-average. Other than that, he would just plant himself at the end of the bench.....

Looking like Kenyon is out as an option. In addition to a report yesterday that his agent said he was looking for somewhere where he's a comfortable fit (didn't really make sense at the time), Berman has just tweeted:

Told yesterday #Knicks not on Kenyon Martin's radar. Too "mecurial" a situation. #Knicks still willing to wait on Rasheed decision.

Makes sense, as it would explain why we suddenly focused in on Rasheed. Strange that Kenyon wouldn't be comfortable with us, considering he's played with Kidd, Camby, Melo and JR. And the irony of Kenyon Martin calling a team mecurial!

Wow, looks like Sheed will be joining us- Isola and others are reporting he took his physical yesterday.

Zwerling reporting all our players are expecting him to be officially signed. I don't know- we're either going to love him or we're going to hate him more than toney Douglas!

this is embarrassing! i hate when other fans laugh at us but **** like this is why
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Championship ready made Celtics didn't re-up him and 2yrs later we're stopping the presses for him. I really don't get this organization, it's continues to baffle me on every level.

What Year Did Toney Douglas Make The NBA All Star Team?

smackeddog wrote:I don't know- we're either going to love him or we're going to hate him more than toney Douglas!

smackdddog - there is no we in "we".

You are either going to love or hate Sheed. In basketball terms, Wallace is a significant skill set upgrade over both Harrellson and Jerome Jordan.

Win or lose, Sheed is cool with me. He is not a difference maker, just a Pine Brother. In case of emergency, break glass.

Even Kenyon knows what time it is...."mercurial".....ha ha ha another word for VOLATILE

What I will say Kenyon wasn't a distraction to the Nuggets his last year there. Matter of fact he was at times the voice of reason when it came to discussing the Melo situation in Denver. He wasn't a distraction to the Clippers last year either.

One thing for sure he knows Melo and Earl better than all the players currently on our team. So for him to not want to join is telling.

I'm not mad at him passing on the situation, not sure if he would have been an equalizer here even if his head was on straight. His skillset could have been of use.
