Lin was great on the Knicks for 25 games...he isn't here anymore. So when we face the Rockets I hope Felton & Kidd demolish dude. He is the enemy now.

I believe the Knicks could only offer 5 mil per but could match an offer. I don't think they realized that wining the bird's rights case would result in their losing Lin.

huh? What does the Bird's rights case have to do with this? Houston obviously didn't have Lin's Bird's rights and could have made the same offer if the case had turned out differently.

i get that fans needs to lie to themselves so they can keep rooting for the orange and blue, but this is not a well run franchise. it's a pathetic joke run by cowards. and, yes, i'm still a fan, so i don't need the misterearlettes telling me how i'm allowed to root for this team.

Glad I stuck with the Yankees and Giants during the times those organizations were run like crap.

That topic video for the thread really resonates with you, doesn't it? So it's Lin or lies to keep rooting for the team.

"We can still go to a Knicks game.."
"Why?"

Frontrunning is such a delicate art to perfect. It's so cute on 5 year olds.
Probably because that's the mindset where it makes the most sense.

way to also copy and paste the part where i said i didn't care how misterearl and his little cheerleading squad tells me to root. this isn't about being "in love" with lin. it's about stupid decisions. if your eyes were open you'd see that that's all dolan has done since he bought the team in 1997. 99 was a fluke - that team wasn't really an 8 seed - and yet this fan base keeps thinking the knicks can re-create that. every single year. every single year this fan base deludes itself into thinking the knicks "just need to make the playoffs" so they can "make a run".

dolan has played you. i'm sorry. keep drinking that kool-aid though. it goes down easy. like melo in the playoffs. ahhhh.

And actually I'm sorriest of all for you, because you're playing yourself.

Way to only ready your post, and nothing I said. Brilliant conversation that. A Kool Aid cartoon. How very apropros.
Is your point that 5 year-olds like Kool Aid?

Dolan's not selling me anything. Gulf and Western didn't sell me anything. I could care less if Sadamm came back from the dead to own the Knicks. Or even some Russian billionaire hip hop wannabe.

I root for the Knicks. I rooted for Lin when he was a Knick. I rooted for Starbles, too. I also rooted for Chris McNealy and Ken Bannister and Eddie Lee Wilkins and his stupid fist pumps in garbage time. God help me, I rooted for Chris Dudley. Unlike you, I truly don't give two sheets about the marketing. I. AM. A. FAN. OF. THE. BASKETBALL. TEAM. AND. IT'S. PLAYERS. Everything else is incidentals.

And way to not even read your own post:

i get that fans needs to lie to themselves so they can keep rooting

i don't need the misterearlettes telling me how i'm allowed to root for this team.

See the incoherence. You don't need anyone to tell you how to root, but you infer to all of us what we need to do to keep rooting.

Nice cartoon by the way. A little weird, but hey, I always hated Kool-Aid as a kid.

however J.Lin is neither a Knick nor Rocket

But faking the hollywood. Its great he reached out to the kid
but is this the same guy ? whom plays with killa veins PG dont care attitudes ?

seems Lin head is in the news more than getting ready for NBA and next yr
he is into hollywood and tweets

If I were a Rocket fan, I'd be worried cause his heart aint there

face facts he made a mistake and he isnt going to have a good 1st season in NY if he's worried about every little single
this and that in NY city

*write that one in stone

The video is super cute, the way little man is crying into his foam finger. I love the way his dad is talking with him. That's really my favorite part of it, a Knicks conversation between a father & son, an adult & child, a long-time diehard, and relatively recent bandwagon fan — although he has been a fan since he was walking and talking, it seems!

I don't get how you can hate on Lin for reaching out to a 5-year-old and his loving parents. Sure, you can look at it as PR. But didn't you ever write a letter as a kid to someone you admire and get a response back? Didn't that feel good that someone "important" and "famous" took time to make you feel important and thank you for your support?

So he spends an hour out of his offseason to FaceTime a 5-year-old, encouraging him to be a die-hard fan of the Knicks! He's between a rock and a hard place, while you have your chisel out ready to engrave "BUST" in it. Sour grapes, man.
