...wait, Hump got a $12M per contract!?
And to think, that's only the fourth worst contract Brooklyn took on this offseason. Joe Johnson $90M over 4 years, Brook Lopez $60M over 4 years, and Gerald Wallace $40M over 4 years are all much, much worse. At least Humphries' contract is only for 2 years.

And yet they seem to be getting nothing but praise- if we had signed the same players to the same deals, we would be a laughing stock.

It's like when you read the offseason reviews/grades, and the same writer will say: Ray Allen- great signing! Steve Nash- great signing! Jason Kidd and Marcus Camby- oh! They're old! The Knicks just got older! They're 40 years old! Ray Allen and Steve Nash are old too, and could just as easily be washed up in a season or two.

Nalod since you're always so bitter about the Knicks and Dolan can you do us a favor and just go root for the Nets? While you're at it please use their forums to express yourhate. It's no fun having haters on our forums. I will support Dolan and Knicks forever. Bleeding Blue and Orange

If you wish to be a "dye in wool homer" thats your choice. Bashing other teams to elevate the one you love is admirable. Just don't expect me to go along.

I look up at MSG and the ceiling is pretty barren.

Nets came form the cellar, moved across two rivers in a new building and have some players now. Knicks have some competition. If you like being the king of NY hoop with a .500 win one and done team because the nets suck thats not much.

What's the difference between negativity and your constructive criticism?

Constructive criticism can make things better, blind negativity is as pointles as blind positivity.
But blind positivity is straight way to hell... But it is cool to be paid by the master to spread one around.

You've never used constructive criticism on this forum. You're confusing constructive criticism with destuctive criticism.

+100. Fake Knicks fans are the worst and it's hard to get rid of them. What's funny is that they're bored with the nyets forums. We're going to run the haters out of here and everywhere. Send them packing for Russia.

Mine was the early 70's. Many of you the Ewing era. For the "causual" fan, its never happened.

Fake or real, I am long on record as saying the Nets move was brilliant.

It's brilliant to sell nyets tickets for 29 cents.

It was a great move by the Nets. It's going to be a good rivalry along the line of Yankees/Mets. Yankees=Knicks/Mets=Nets

I hope that the nyets get all the fake fans.

And the reason being putting aside old stories of Dolan and last decade of embarrassments the last events of Walsh, MDA, and Lin departures.
Talk about conspiracy... but it is a perfect turn of events for Nets to establish solid NYC fan base.
They already get 10K of season tickets and press is good.
So who will be the NYC Clippers?

I think our Knicks has been the Clippers for 40 years. We just didn't have a Lakers in NYC. Yankees spent money but won numerous times. Yankees is nothing like Knicks. Knicks spent record-breaking money but never made it to playoff for years... I don't see resemblance.

Of course they will be at near capacity because they will be the only affordable team in town.

This is like the Clippers versus Lakers.

They need to win to also gain TV ratings on the YES network. My guess is that they are going to be brash and braggadocio.....like the Jets, to generate more fan interest. Would not be surprised to see them eventually bring in an outspoken coach as well. It will still take a while.

Whether the Knicks have good or bad management, they already have a loyal fan base built....so they will not rely as much on the bandwagon fans for attendance, however it will help TV ratings. If the Knicks become a winning team, each game becomes an event beyond anything the Nets can achieve at this point.

Nyets aint winning jack.

I have some good friends that are longtime nets fans. They are very knowledgeable and very loyal. I know that nothing could ever happen to make them knick fans. I am a bit surprised that this is even a topic here as I thought this was a place for hardcore knick fans. I honestly can't see anyway that I would become a net fan personally.

Still doesn't mean I'm exactly thrilled with the way the Knicks have thrown away their best young player in years for nothing.

Never liked the NYETS and never will. I will stay true to my team. Even when the nyets went to the finals twice I never cared to watch them. There was and still is no love for them.

Hate the nets but I love watching bball. I signed up for nba tv for 1 day to watch them play the pacers in the playoffs during the Kidd era.

My uncle had Knick season tickets and used to go to about 5 Knick games a year from 1971-72-73. He tragically died in summer of '73 at age 45. At the very least his last known NBA champion was the Knicks. I loved him and he gave me the Knicks.

TO be perfectly honest, because of my NEW YORK Nets history (Not JERSEY!)and being from Brooklyn the two merging does resonate with me at some level. I doubt I could ever turn my back on the knicks but I will root for the Nets should they advance beyond the Knicks and root for them when playing other teams. I'd rather them win than any in our division!

Should they meet in the playoffs I suppose the outcome will always be a pleasant one for me.

I plan on not watching as many games this year anyway. Three nites of tennis and one nite for volunteering is enough. My movie list got way too long last year and I read less than I wanted to this past season.

Most of you are haters of "NEW JERSEY Nets" and I get that. I have ignored that team since they left NY but did hope they would win in the two finals they played. Im not going to root for LA or Detroit! I can't recall a single moment from the two Net runs in those years other than Nets got creamed. Despite my high post count Im not that intense on Knick basketball.

Knicks take care of business none of this is an issue.

Arkrud what are you waiting for to switch teams? WHAT HAS THE NYETS WON IN 32 YEARS, BETTER YET EVER? THE 10 NYETS FANS WHO SUFFERED AND PAID TO WATCH THEM IN JOISEY FOR SO LONG SHOULD BE THE ONLY ONES WHO GET CREDIT EVEN IF THEY PAID 29 CENTS FOR THE TICKETS. Try the new/old team that all the Knicks haters support. STOP SPREADING NEGATIVITY ON KNICKS BOARDS TO PEOPLE TRYING TO ENJOY AND SUPPORT THEIR KNICKS TEAM.........People who project negativity typically have low self-esteem. They feel badly about themselves, and their negativity is simply a reflection of those feelings. KNICKS HATERS, NYETS SUPPORTERS=PERFECT MATCH!.
