My uncle had Knick season tickets and used to go to about 5 Knick games a year from 1971-72-73. He tragically died in summer of '73 at age 45. At the very least his last known NBA champion was the Knicks. I loved him and he gave me the Knicks.
TO be perfectly honest, because of my NEW YORK Nets history (Not JERSEY!)and being from Brooklyn the two merging does resonate with me at some level. I doubt I could ever turn my back on the knicks but I will root for the Nets should they advance beyond the Knicks and root for them when playing other teams. I'd rather them win than any in our division!
Should they meet in the playoffs I suppose the outcome will always be a pleasant one for me.
I plan on not watching as many games this year anyway. Three nites of tennis and one nite for volunteering is enough. My movie list got way too long last year and I read less than I wanted to this past season.
Most of you are haters of "NEW JERSEY Nets" and I get that. I have ignored that team since they left NY but did hope they would win in the two finals they played. Im not going to root for LA or Detroit! I can't recall a single moment from the two Net runs in those years other than Nets got creamed. Despite my high post count Im not that intense on Knick basketball.
Knicks take care of business none of this is an issue.
