I wonder if Bonn is happy or at least a little at ease with Brewer here no that Fields is gone. Also, I love that Brewer has a high steal and low turnover rate. I like a wing that does not turn the ball over. Last year both the Knicks main Pgs avg 5 TOs a game per 36. I do not know what Douglas did even though mosts stats would rank him as one of the worst player in the league last year.

This team is deep.

Side note: Brewer at Vet min over Landry contract.

Bottom line is hes no star but what do u expect for a mini vet salary. With that said hes a great defender and an upgrade from landry. Our philosophy will be very defensive
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I like him but he can't seriously be our starter. He's one of the worst shooters in the league.

Dude, $1.4 mill for a dude that's better than Landry Fields. What else can you get at that price?

Playing with Felton & Kidd will help Brewer a lot more than playing next to Rose

Exactly. And he's a career 50% shooter. I know percentage can be deceiving (see Landry Fields) but he's a big upgrade over Fields.

I'm not JR's biggest fan, but given our options he might have to start unless Felton n Kidd are both starting. The paint is gonna be packed tight with brewer out there for big minutes.

that is the one concern. playing 4 on 5 but its only temporary til Shump returns. a Bruce Bowen type would've been perfect. someone who could defend and shoot an open 3 to spread the floor for Melo & Amare

Ronnie Brewer - excellent pick-up. He's a solid player and only 27 yrs old. He will fit in. This team has tremendous depth. We have 11 experienced NBA players and 3 experienced players from EuroLeague.

It remains to be seen just how this group will do in terms of scoring, but it's no different than the Bulls who couldn't shoot either and were a top team in the league. If you can't shoot then you better be able to stop people and create some easy buckets off TO's.

This Knicks team is designed to hold teams down and grind it out. Yes we have Felton who can push the ball but overall the roster is not designed to run n gun or play at a high tempo for 48 mins. you have to look at the fact that our best player is an ISO artist and we don't have a lot of shooting. We've got 2 ancient PG's that will thrive in a halfcourt style.

Overall this team will struggle to score at times, but with a strong D and a lot of good hands players that get steals, that is where the extra offense will come in. TO's will be a big part of the offense with our younger more athletic players getting out on the break. Just understand that this is the polar opposite of what we tried to do under Walsh and MDA. Last time Felton was here the team was #5 in offensive efficiency!!! High Tempo and lots of 3's. That's not what this team is designed to do.

Brewer will be a near straight up replacement for Landry in terms of size and style of game. I think Brewer will be a better slasher and a guy that can hit a midrange jumper. Basically this move allows the team to have a similar feel to the starting lineup of last year. This time I think that Felton and Brewer are a better defensive tandem than Fields and Lin.

With this signing we finally see thebig picture as what Glenn has been trying to do. They basically gave the true fans what we been begging for from coach all the way down to the 14th man....we are now ready for war!!!!

PG - Felton, Kidd, Pablo
SG - Brewer, Smith, Shump
SF - Melo, Novak, White
PF - Stat, Kurt, Copeland
C - Chandler, Camby

Melo and Stat are clearly our two reliable scorers. JR is hot and cold, can't really depend on him if one of the two before mentioned go down. Novak - great shooter but can't create at all.

So, really, we have 1 great scorer in Melo and a pretty good one in Stat. When the playoffs come, the question is "Can our defense (which appears to be great) be enough to overcome the Heats big 3"? This is why I was so against letting Lin go.

Copeland and White might be the wild cards for us. I think we do INCREDIBLE in the regular season, just no so sure about how we stack up against Miami and OKC. We see what they got, both got a big 3, in a sense. We have a big 2, sort of. I feel Lin could have been that missing piece for us.

In my opinion....Felton is a better fit than Lin for this offense. It's not even close. 2-3 yrs down the road, it might be different. But the Knicks are always about the here and now. Chasing that championship. From the fans to the owners....We are very impatient, and can't wait for the young guns to grow, unless they show initial star promise like Shump.....Who has potential on both ends. Lin only impacts one side of the court, without any stars on the floor, in the right system. Felton is solid, when healthy, motivated and in game shape. Everybody on this team will be motivated to win now!

i dont mind taht they decided on felton instead of lin. My only problem is taht they gave him away for nothing. I mean we probably could have gotten at least a decent draft pick back

how?

We would have to sign him and then after Feb (forget the date) he is tradeable with his permission. I think we could have traded him anytime after the first year of his contract. I think it is reasonable to say, that he would nab us a very very nice pick, at the least.

I figured thats what you ment, but god for bid something happens injury wise, or he stinks up the joint like TD, imagine trading for TD with a contract like that

I hope Smith still starts, we need the shooting in the lineup.

There will be plenty of SHOOTING by Smith. Good shooting? That's a different story. With that said, signing Brewer is definitely a good movie.
