He's whipping passes and hitting catch and shoot jumpers. MDA has been coaching the offense for the Olympic Teams for years and for the most part Melo has thrived in it. Just ticks me off that's all.
Woo Sah, let it go Nixluva. You're in a new, better era of Knicks bball. No more drama, just wins baby!
hopefully they will prove it on the court
See I can separate my criticism of Melo and his questionable character from his actual talent and the Knicks chances to win. I don't like how Melo has handled himself and have fully explained why. That doesn't mean that I don't like his talent and enjoy watching the Knicks win when he's playing well. Just don't ask me to ignore the fact that he played like a BUM under MDA last year and yet he's playing like a duck in water in a D'Antoni designed offense with the Olympic Team.
Does having Deron Williams, CP3, Kevin Durant, Lebron James, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love, James Harden on the team have anything to do with Making Melo look this good in D'Antoni's offense?
Not making excuses for Melo, but when you're whipping passes to Durant or Lebron, or receiving pin point passes from CP3 or Deron, it tends to make everyone look good.
See I would give you something there if I didn't watch Melo not do these things when he came back into the middle of Linsanity. At that time the team was rolling and they seemed able to share the ball despite it being mostly our role players getting it done. Melo certainly could've whipped passes to his teammates when he came back.
This is not to say that they'd look like this All Star Team he's playing with right now. It's just that you see the WILLINGNESS to make the extra pass and to execute catch and shoot and moving without the ball. All of those principles that are exactly the same as what was going on when he came back to the team that was clicking on all cylinders.
Now Melo has a fresh start with an even stronger team, so let's hope this is the year this team puts it together. Everything should be setup in Melo's favor to thrive and be successful. He should have a career year.
