Woo Sah, let it go Nixluva. You're in a new, better era of Knicks bball. No more drama, just wins baby!

I hear what you're saying but there a big difference between playing on the Olympic team and playing with the Knicks. Regardelss, I think that what really pisses people off about Melo is that he has the talent to it all but doesn't seem to bring it every game.

I think he took a bog step when Woody was brought it and he put up crazy stats toward the end of the season. I've alway been a Melo fan but I think this is the year that he puts it all together. He seems to have a different swagger to him lately and I can't ever recall him stating things like "My time is shortly."

With Lebron, Wade and Bosh having won the hardware and him being around those guys I think this may be the final kick in the ass he needs.

See I can separate my criticism of Melo and his questionable character from his actual talent and the Knicks chances to win. I don't like how Melo has handled himself and have fully explained why. That doesn't mean that I don't like his talent and enjoy watching the Knicks win when he's playing well. Just don't ask me to ignore the fact that he played like a BUM under MDA last year and yet he's playing like a duck in water in a D'Antoni designed offense with the Olympic Team.

It's all about efficiency for Melo. Yeah we know he's gonna put up about 25 per but can he do it at a high rate and give it up at the right times? If we get the Melo we saw for the last bit of last season for the whole year we can do serious damage.

Does having Deron Williams, CP3, Kevin Durant, Lebron James, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love, James Harden on the team have anything to do with Making Melo look this good in D'Antoni's offense?

Not making excuses for Melo, but when you're whipping passes to Durant or Lebron, or receiving pin point passes from CP3 or Deron, it tends to make everyone look good.

That would be an illogical conclusion. HE IS A BUM!

Nice to see a positive thread on Melo for a change. He looked great in that game, keeping the ball moving and also scoring. We have many weapons on this team and it will be nice to keep the ball moving, especially with all the guards we have (and hopefully adding a last one, a scoring shooting guard).

Rings And Things

Lebron James made some revealing statements in his post championship interviews. He talked about playing angry the first year, trying to prove people wrong. Unhappy and unfulfilled.

The second year Lebron admitted he played for his love of the game. With joy. He played the way he intuitively had been playing for years. That approach allowed him to elevate his focus at the correct moments and lift his team with him.

Carmelo would be wise to tune out the idle chatter and keep the smile on his face... and when Raymond Felton hist him with a clever bounce pass, keep one eye on a streaking Amar'e Stoudemire every now and then.

I didnt flip flop. I have said that i think melo is gonna have a good season for a while now i was just stating that his past playoff record isnt good. BUT I think this is the year he will turn it around.

Does it really make sense to judge an individual player in a team sport by how far their teams get in the playoffs?

When Player X was on Team Y they went to the Finals.
Therefore Player X is a "winner"

Logically it makes no sense. I think there were only a handful of players in NBA history that could carry a mediocre team to the Finals: MJ and Lebron. Can't really include Jason Kidd because the Eastern Conference was ATROCIOUS. Some managed to carry their team in say a 1st round series against mediocre competition: T-Mac (Orlando). Otherwise the argument doesn't hold up when you see:

-Kobe getting bounced in the 1st round. Nash failing to make the playoffs. KG's early career. Kevin Love.

This team should be good enough to get out of the 1st round unless we get the 7th/8th seed and face Miami in round 1. Think we can take Chicago. Maybe I'm delusional.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

See I would give you something there if I didn't watch Melo not do these things when he came back into the middle of Linsanity. At that time the team was rolling and they seemed able to share the ball despite it being mostly our role players getting it done. Melo certainly could've whipped passes to his teammates when he came back.

This is not to say that they'd look like this All Star Team he's playing with right now. It's just that you see the WILLINGNESS to make the extra pass and to execute catch and shoot and moving without the ball. All of those principles that are exactly the same as what was going on when he came back to the team that was clicking on all cylinders.

Now Melo has a fresh start with an even stronger team, so let's hope this is the year this team puts it together. Everything should be setup in Melo's favor to thrive and be successful. He should have a career year.

This knicks team is tailor made for him so we will see what he's made of, especially with the expectations of him for this upcoming season, he's not the type to break under pressure and he should have a pretty big chip on his shoulders after all the lin vs melo drama. Think this is going to be a special year for us!
Melo needs to at least get us to the ECF or the season will be a failure

Before we can entertain advancing in the playoffs, we need to eneter the playoffs with a healthy squad.

Did you say Joy? Uh-oh, Melo better be careful. Its only okay for guys like Lebron, Magic and Isiah to flash a smile and have fun playing a game. some Knick fans dont like when Melo has fun on the court.

LOL at nobody is bashing him.

When hasn't Melo not been bashed?

I know I know the usual:

-When Melo makes it out the first round
-When Melo quit on D'Antoni
-When Melo forced the trade
-When Melo has too much mofongo
-When Melo told Dolan to tell Lin to shove it
-etc etc etc

He's been bashed the second he donned the Knicks uniform, where have you been Irish?
