Melo isnt Marbury. But LIKE Marbury his arrival is the start of something lame and twice Melo killed something exciting.

To me he's ARod. He thinks hes the best. The all star games, wax statues... he's a good player. He's got skills and talent. Enough to get you into the playoffs every year where his iso-ball utterly falls short against NBA playoff caliber teams. I dont hate him, but what has Melo given me to like? At least ARod had the one great postseason and was easily the best player on the field that year and LED Yanks to a WS win. Some of those late HRs were epic. Kind of what you expect from the highest paid player in the game. What has Melo delivered? Everyone is just waiting.... Im sure this is the year. Chuckbuck got a text from Dolan say so.

Melo didn't cost us Walsh. Dolan cost us Walsh when he tried to nickle and dime him. Maybe it was a s ign of things to come.
2.) In the end, Melo cost us Gallo, Chandler and Mozgov. How can you not do that deal if it's offered to you.
3.) Melo had nothing to do with the Lin deal. I'm sure he didn't tell Lin to get a Poison pill contract and I'm positive that he had no contact with Morey during the entire process.
Melo has his faults, but let's be objective.

oh I agree... I dont mean Melo cost us Walsh like he wanted Donnie gone or something, it was 100% Dolan no ifs ands or butts. Its 100% colateral damage and not Melo's fault, but Melo coming here ended up costing us Walsh.

Bottom line though is Melo created a bidding war. One team (Nets) were desperate. The other team (Knicks) only had a desperate owner. Once Dolan became smitten with Melo (god knows why) good decision making went bye bye

You say it's not all his fault & yet you persist in throwing inflammatory jabs at him designed to rile everybody up. I think that's what i'm really trying to understand about this, is there some sort of need to have a hated villain even within a family structure. I mean it's one thing when we're hating on Lebron or somebody else from another team, that we have a rivalry with but there seems to be some perverse "need" by NY sports fans to "hate" on their own players. I just don't get it???

I dont hate on Melo. Tell me one inflammitory thing I have said. I dont need to make him a villian, and only once in my whole sports fan life have I ever rooted for a player on a team I love to fail, and that was Marbs.

When Melo plays great Im happy. Im a Knick fan. I just dont pretend he's something he's not. Thats what seems to upset folks.

Why do people get so upset that a guy who has brought nothing to the team in 1.5 years isnt univerally loved and adored? Maybe some playoff wins will help me appreciate his game more? Lets hope

In ancient Native American culture this person was often called a "sin eater" and was randomly chosen & then fed cursed food that was filled with the sins of everyone in the village. then after a wild night of partying & drinking he was kicked out of the village to wander in the wilderness alone & die. So that everyone else could have a good or better life.
Maybe we should just waive him (or Amare) now so that all of you will get better jobs & your wives will magically get hotter and all will be right in the village of Nueva York.

Well with Melo the explanation is pretty simple: He is the franchise. He makes the most $. That's why him and STAT will get the lions share of hate when things go badly and love when things go well.

It's a joke, bruh... Just as much of a joke as those who constantly make disparaging remarks about the Knicks team, with nothing positive to say at all, yet proclaim to be "Knicks fans".

...and before you or anyone else gets hypersensitive and/or defensive, I am not saying that Carlemo is above criticism, but those who are guilty of senselessly hating on him just because they think it's the popular thing to do, or becasue they are still seething over a trade that they should be adult ebnough to put behind them by now are the ones who I am talking about.
