I don't know of anyone who has threatened someone's life over Lin leaving the Knicks -whatever the heck that means.

The Answer Man Wishes Yellowboy Had The Courage of Carmelo Anthony

“I hope we get it done, man” - Carmelo Anthony

“I hope we can get it done. I would love to see him back, honestly, I would definitely love to see him back. But knowing the business of basketball, it’s kind of a tough situation for both parties."

After drawing some criticism for the “ridiculous contract” comment, Anthony said he his thoughts haven’t changed on the subject.

“I always get backlash, It’s nothing new. It is what it is."

“It was ridiculous for [the Rockets] to do what they did, as far as throwing that out there and making it tough on us to sign him back.”

The new "ridiculous" comment doesn't even make sense. If Houston really wants Lin, then what they did was smart, not ridiculous.

to me it was obvious that Melo was talking about Houston. Why would anyone in their right mind crucify someone for taking the money. Especially an NBA player who has seen ridiculous contracts given out for decades. Haters are going to hate and Melo is a magnet for it. For a team to load the 3rd year to pay him, not All-Star money but SUPERSTAR money is crazy.

Also, I wonder IF Houston has taken into account how other GM's view this move on their part. New York certainly won't deal with them in the future and other GM's many be wary that Houston might become interested in one of their own free agents. No one wants to have their hand forced in this manner. Just despicable.

I liked Melo better when he was punching people then running away. Why does Dolan fall in love with losers?

I would hope that Melo realizes they are a better team with Lin.

The bottom line why I think NY may match, is that Lin is an asset. Even with this contract. He will be paid about right for the next 2 years and then in the third, if he is not performing or MDA is coaching somewhere, he becomes a valuable expiring deal along with Camby, Kidd, Melo, Stat and Chandler. The fact is that Lin's contract fits the 3 year plan. At some point, NY must know they will have to pay the luxury tax, no?

Is call business my friend and the Knicks are the only one to blame for this, they didn’t offer Lin a contract (not even a low offer) and were looking to replace him for Steve Nash about two weeks ago. So one man’s garbage is another man’s treasure.

they were not in any way shade or form looking to replace him with Nash. Knicks wanted Nash to mentor him and with Shump out till December, would have likely had them both on the floor with Jeremy playing the 2 being 6'5.

guess again. Shumpert was going to be included in the trade for Nash and you dont pay mentors $10mm a year/ Knicks were getting Nash to try and win a title in the next 2 years. Kinda like the Lakers

It's Amazing how ppl will search for the negative..

yeah, when the knicks let lin go it'll be yet another situation melo had ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with. just like d'antoni. just like the trade.

You cant be serious right now. If Lin leaves for Houtson, its Melo's fault?

Melo can't win no matter what he does. It was Melo who went to Houston to sign Lin's offer contract too.

No players wanted to come to the Knicks. Melo practically begged to be and he is hated. Why would any player want to come here. The Fan Base is filled with jerks. "Well Melo should of waited" That doesnt always work look at Dwight Howard and NJ. U bring up the CBA then he is a greedy pig and the same "fans" applaud Lin as a smart harvard guy when he makes a cash grab.

Actually Melo talked Houston into the the 3rd year and flew Jeremy out on a private jet.

I'm nowhere near being a Melo hater but you are right. This is none of his business. In fact, it was him that forced the Nuggets to trade him for the Knicks half roster, including a couple of guys that would play GREAT with Melo. He needs to keep this stuff to himself, or at least behind closed doors and nowhere near a media outlet. The sad thing is this is nothing compared to what Smith said. That was flat out assinine. I really hope Dolan gave both of those guys a major media policy refresher course because obviously they need it.

Of course! If it wasn't for Melotalking Houton into reowrking the deal and flying Lin out to Houston personally Kidd wouldn't have been upset about Lin not being on the team.
