Some recent NY Knick Salaries:
Marbury 2008-9 $20,840,625
Eddy Curry 2008-9 $9,723,983
Tracy McGrady 2009-10 $22,483,124
Zac Randolph 2007-8 $13,333,333
Steve Francis 2006-7 $15,070,000
AND,
Carmelo "the ridiculous" (upcoming season): $20,463,024
Amare "the Toreador" (upcoming season): $19,948,799.

You're right, math geniuses. For some reason the time to draw the line in the sand is now with Jeremy Lin.

Marbury
McGrady
Randolph
Francis
Melo
and Amar'e
were all signed to big ass multi million dollar contracts after only starting in 25 NBA games.

You guys kill me when y'all act like uncertainty about his game has nothing to do with deciding whether or not to match his offer.

And how did that system of signing "proven" players work out for the team, genius? The reason the Knicks suck is not Dolan or Isaiah or even Melo (though they all have a good claim). It's our genius fans.

lol okay.

Not sure how this is relevant here but it is the absolute truth. But, how many would trade away their whole team and trade 50 first rounders for him?

Heck! They traded Felton who WAS great - though now, he stinks.

Right,ot pne team in the ;eague could have traded half their roster for Melo! Sorry to bust your bubble but Melo is overpaid, underacheiving player who puts his own ego ahead of the team needs. Other than that he is probably one of the nost versatile offensive players ever to play. But talent means dick, if you don'y buy into what's best for the team. I was a supporter of the Melo trade, but I will never forgive a paid professional who admits he didnt put in a 100% effort irrespective of cause.

I might not agree but fans have a right to root for a player or hate and bash him/them. It comes with the territory.

Did they give up too much for him? Maybe.

Overpaid? No way! Every team would sign him for the max if they had the cap space.

Admit that he did not give 100 pct? I don't buy into or try to decipher what dumb Melo says.

Melo is a Knick and I will root for him to succeed, I just don't think he earns his paycheck here. Neither does amare.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

I don't think any of them earned their paycheck (including Tyson) until they mesh.

Really, if any team can match this contract and afford to do so- and needs to do so, its the Knicks.

Lin, Shumpert and Jeffries exceeded and Tyson lived up to the expectations of their salaries.

Tyson played very well but he does not mesh with Amare, has zero offensive game, and was AWFUL in the playoffs. Defense was great!!

My beef with him is what it cost us to get him and how it lost us our amnesty (Amare). I think we would have been in much better shape if we did not sign him - but I think I am in the minority on this board with this opinion. Many reporters have mentioned it though.

Tyson also has had a VERY mediocre and injury prone career outside of the last 2 years. I think it kills us going forward but time will tell.

I think it's more Amare's fault, because he is a PF who can only succeed when he plays the C. Tyson was bad in the playofs, no arguments there. We have discussed the amnesty in the past, I think we should have Amnestied Amare when we had the chance. Again I don't hate Amare, I just think his contract is beyond ridiculous.

Sounds like we pretty much are in agreement.

I don't know why but if Tyson remains healthy (which is far from a given), we will have a very solid year.

We no 1 for sure the Nets and since Melo said he would only sign in NY not many others approached Denver. Also really overvaluing the players we sent. How many are starters may I ask, 1. We sent 3 rotation players and got 2 back. After watching the Howard trade im glad the Knicks got Melo then we might of ended up with worse players then him
