This guy is a barrel of douche. He had the gall to say "Don't blame me if Lin don't return to the Knicks" after he made his statement. Lin is your teammate. Why the hell does it matter if an offer is ridiculous???? You're a teammate, not some financial specialist.

Lin isn't going to be a Knick next season because there are players on his team who are just too stupid to give a damn. I'm looking at you, Melo, you fat moron.

dude, I said it from day one.. the guy is a bozo and a joke, add in mental midget JR smith.. Listen, I always felt lin didn't fit with these clowns, now we ran out walsh, dantoni, bye to jeffries, fields and now lin.. the asylum is now being controlled by the nut jobs.. good luck knicks fans with this damn mess..

Last time I looked Lin ws making 5mm this year and 5mm next year. 2015 is a long ways a way--this fake noise of having to pay Lin 30mm in 3 yeras is ludicrous. Anyone here can guarantee me we have the same roster in 3 years? Makes 0 sense--you dont even have to have it on your radar--and this is coming from a team that paid eddy Curry 25mm his last year with taxes for him to sit at home

exactly briggs, the deal is backloaded, so of course people are going to run with the 30 mil.. typical NY fans and media.. it is not lins fault the team is in luxury tax hell..

The perfect answer.

I wonder if the Knickfan/Melohate sequence has been identified in the genome yet...

Playoffs and regular season. Both seasons matter after all. I'm harsh on Melo because I think there's strong evidence that his style of play doesn't help teams win. It at least looks like he's finally taking the off-season seriously. If he comes in in shape and has the best year of his career, I'll give him all the credit in the world. Right now, he's mister .470 though.

I am so upset with him I would do Gereld Walace/Kris Humphries and 1future pick pick and maybe even more if he plays well, during deadline....
We have no Lebron/Durant stoppers, those are unique players to defend.

Gereld Wallace/Humphries would allow us to take our defense/rebounding to the next level, and SHARE THE BALL with Amare back as the #1...

missing the point. Chandler played well (in the reg season)

He was not worth his 14.7 million plus the Amnesty that we can no longer use on Amare. NOT EVEN CLOSE!!

It's just something I've wondered, that's all. Doesn't seem like a terribly controversial question.

Unlike Jeremy Lin, JR Smith actually took less because he likes playing here and wanted to be a Knick- I think he deserves a bit of respect for that. Yeah, he makes some blunders on and off the court sometimes, but he seems an alright kind of a guy.

Melo can be an ass sometimes, but since D'Antoni went (and I was glad to see him go), he's trying to do the right thing. I get why you might think its too little too late, but I don't think he's deserved a lot of the hate he has done the past few months. He was awesome in that last stretch that got us into the playoffs- that counts for something. People seem to tear into him for not beating the Heat in the playoffs single handedly while simultaneously hating him for trying to beat the heat single handedly. He improved his effort on defense, and he has taken conditioning seriously. Since Woodson took over he's been alright.

I don't share your anti melo, pro-Gallo crusade, but it's a shame this Lin fiasco looks like it's pushed you away from the Knicks for good- I used to like your keys to the game back in the day, and I hate to see passionate hard core Knick fans get alienated from the team due to stupid decisions. I would add though that Lin deserves some flack for his role in all of this, he did pull a d*** move.

So the point is we should have used the amnesty on Amare, added Chandler and kept Billups in which case Linsanity may never have happened?

Great post. Totally agree and I think you are definitely right about giving Smith credit. I loved the interview with his dad yesterday and I never knew about his paying his brother's tuition so that another kid could get a basketball scholarship.

Wonder how passionately hard core one can be when stupid decisions by management (and/or players) alienate said hard core fan from the team.

Everyone can whine and complain and offer up opinions, but constantly threatening to leave the team is infantile. This is basketball, fellas. It's not cancer research or national security we're talking about. Seriously, where are you going to go?

And if you can think of some other team to support, please go work off your uric acid on their boards. I'm sure other franchises will never make what amounts to stupid trades and moves in your expert opinions.

While Dicks are coming out of peoples mouths.........wow how big is Jeremy Lins to hold some many grown men?

You realize Shump is injured, not dead right? He's the elite wing defender. No one can really guard LBJ or KD but players like Shump make them work incredibly hard for what the get. The key is a well rounded team defense and defensive concept.

Why is Melo opening his fat mouth?
