I think they mixed it up, we are giving up the rights to OUR 2nd picks in Europe

cause Felton is still a decent PG in the league.

We didn't give up anything besides JJ and a 2nd round pick.

this is some OG **** from grunwald. i love the slick moves he's making - making morey look like a fool. houston has no pg's and theres no viable pg's left in the FA pool. damn.

I really hope I'm wrong, but this whole Lin situation is odd- The sudden bump in the offer, then us still not receiving the offer sheet. If the plan was Felton, Kidd and Lin, then why also sign that other 35 year old PG? Maybe Lin has said he doesn't want back.

Also, never thought I'd say this but... It's a shame to see JJ go! He was great for team chemistry and loved being a Knick- thought he'd be back for sure.

I like Felton and Kurt, but its a shame if it turns out it was for Lin and JJ.

agreed. i would rather have Jared and Lin than Kurt and Felton. we'll have to wait and see.

i'm hoping they match on Lin.

i really want Houston's GM to feel the pain here.

Defense wins CHAMPIONSHIPS.

LIN is not a defender. He's a money maker.

i mean we are all figuring here that there's no way that dolan would tell grunwald to let lin walk because of the whole international $$$ thing. i would be shocked beyond belief if we don't match on lin. absolutely shocked if we don't.

i like felton but lets be honest ever since he was traded he has gotten fatter and worse. dantoni isnt here anymore which is where he played the bets in his career. I still think we are matchin lin just to see what he is an maybe like someone said use him in a trade later on

Knicks have acquired Raymond Felton and Kurt Thomas from Portland for Jared Jeffries, Kurt Thomas and 2016 2nd-round pick, source confirms.

sounding official.

IF THEY SIGN LIN - this is a GREAT DEAL.

Lin / Felton
Kidd / JR / (Shump, JR moves to backup SF when Shump returns)
Melo / Novak
Amar'e / Kurt
Tyson / Camby

Love that 10 guy rotation with Shump taking his time.

i'm praying this is the plan.

if not, i may need to take a looong walk.

It better be the plan otherwise Knicks are destined for 1st & 2nd rd exits. They will never catch Miami, boston, indy & chicago. No home court advantage for the Knicks. And we will be really old with only Shump providing youth until he too is traded

I think he was really depressed from the trade, I don't think anyone really wanted to get traded from NY but he took it the hardest.

Mosgov took it the easiest and Gallo just wanted revenge...

If we can win a championship without Lin, why does it matter if we match?

To be honest, Lin is a scoring PG....Thats what he does best. Passing only leads to more turnovers for him.

Lin is the best young pg for a Mike Dantoni system with no superstars.

With Woodsons system, why pay somebody 15 mil just to pass the ball to Melo on every possession.

I like what our new GM is doing. Surrounding Melo and Stat with old school defensive players = CHAMPIONSHIPS.....

Just think about it. Lin will cost nearly $57 million in year 3!!!! His $14.8 mil plus the $42 mil in Luxury Tax. There's no way that they can do a deal like that. It's not practical even with Lin being a money maker. They don't even know how long that will last. Suppose he has a bad year and all the excitement and Asian Corporate Sponsors dry up? I think this is the end of Lin in NY.

Then you have the idea that Woody wasn't exactly in love with Lin to begin with. I think he wants to play slow it down ball and Lin makes him nervous.

Felton is a scoring PG as well. And, he was 34th in the league last year in assist/turnover ratio.

IMO the party is over in terms of Lin and all that exciting stuff. Now it's about grind it out defensive basketball and that Detroit Pistons Ball Control style. It's what Woody is most comfortable with and if you have Melo what else can you do, cuz he doesn't fit an Uptempo, Motion and Ball movement offense. This was inevitable once they signed Melo and then Woody. So long as it leads to a title that's all that matters.

Our plan is to play grind-it-out, defensive basketball with Amare and Melo? We're ****ed.

Even though we are the minority, I agree....

I think the smart move is to match Lin and see what happens in year one or two. If the jersey sales aren't enough of a draw to keep Lin, then you have the pg depth to trade Lin to a smaller market team looking to increase ticket and jersey sales.

But everybody keeps focusing on Felton and how he played in Mikes system.

Unfortunately, offense doesn't win championships. We just turned this Knick team into a strong balance of offense, defense and vet / championship experience team. With the most important positions in basketball sold up.....PG / CENTER

Yeah, I guess anytime you can trade a possibly up-and-coming young star PG for a mediocre, shoot first PG you have to do it.
