I still think this is a smokescreen. If this goes down I will throw up

A smokescreen for what though? Lin already signed the offer sheet, it can't be changed.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Not to mention the amount of money he is worth to the franchise.

Papabear Says

The Knicks will resign Lin and make him prove he is worth the money. If not they will sit him and break him and make him do a sign a trade. Dolan is pessed off. Remember Larry Brown?? Money didn't mean that much to Dolan.

Signing Fields wasn't going to change that.

Shumpert and JR Smith are one of the best SG tandems in the league when healthy. Kidd and Felton are a pretty damn solid PG rotation. Add in Prigioni as a wild card. Not bad at all.

Fields is a SF. Asking him to play SG exposes the fact that he can't shoot or defend opposing SGs.

Agreed. But until Shump comes back healthy, SG is a position that's gonna give us some headaches in the early going.

Even if we don't re-sign Lin (which we probably won't), I think you will see Kidd and Felton sharing the floor for stretches. Kidd has played a fair amount of SG over the past few years. He can defend his position and hit open 3s, while also being a consummate passer and ball-mover, even from an off the ball position.
