And Carmelo is only 28. No serious injury history unlike Amare

That's right, we aren't the Thunder. So I don't wanna hear about prospects we got in the 2nd rd or 2nd rd draft picks. We have to go for it now cuz this is mostly a right now roster. Aside from Lin and Shump who will form the core of the team after this core is done, we really have a team that is ripe right now. We have to go for it and get players that know how to win. There's no time to wait on prospects to develop when we can add vets that know what to do and can solidify our bench. I could care less about the players or picks we gave up if this team can get to the finals with vets we add now.

We should have got BOTH Courtney Lee and Camby from Houston, wonder who kept us from it happening?
Instead we are holding on to Gadz contract which was made to be used for future sign and dump made last year, with no picks in the near future to use it on.
And most likely not enough salary to land a half decent FA.

I think he is that type of person, that would fit in with our players and grind out philosophy.
He doesn't play for get stats, he is pure heart and hustle, and is just a solid player.
He does not take bad shots and is a team player.
I really like Brandon Rush, as I think his defense would compliment Iman and now TC/Camby.
He is 6'6 can play SG/SF, athletic, long reach, plays tough, and hit 3point shot at a very good % last year.
He was one of the leading guards on the league last year that did a little of everything.
His playing time was inconsistent and mainly played 20-25minutes but when he did play starter minutes he was great.
As G/F defended the hardest guy, grabbed a good amount of RBs, scored 10-20pts a game, with 1-3 combined steals/block per game with his length.

For the 2 future 2nd round picks, 2.1m cash for TD salary * we might as well give Houston the full 3m, Jorts *has unique skills for a big with potential*, Jordan *not sure how to evaluate him without seeing if he improved*

I would have settled with Lee though, he is still a good role player
Courtney Lee is a smaller player and not as strong as Rush, but he put up greater numbers.
Honestly, for what we gave Houston, we should have just thrown in Gadzuric, and the full 3m for a S&T for Lee with Camby.
But Camby wanted to make more than the 3m and Lee wants a decent long term deal.
I am not sure, but I think something could have been worked out.

Since Lee wasn't extended a qualifying offer, Houston has no interest in resigning him.
I don't know if Grunweld, Camby, or Lee couldn't make it work, or if Houston didn't want us to improve and continue screwing us.
By offering the extra 1m or so left, after TD contract, and Gadz contract being waived right after,
We should have got both players
Camby and Courtney Lee *to stick it to Nets, the damn that drafted him*

I would have included Gadz and asked for a couple for a pick back. What's he worth late first? Is that even possible with the cap rules? IDK.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

fans here over value our own young guys sooooooooooo much.

remember the uproar over anthony randolph being "given away"? ahem... i believe he's available now if you'd like him back.

remember the furor over not re-signing jackie butler? also available. if you can find him.

million dollar mozgov? decent piece. maybe. someday. i guess. maybe?

lavor postell? trevor ariza? nate robinson? channing frye? david lee? the list goes on and on. some decent players in there, but almost ALL overvalued.

i'm a fan, too and i like it when our home grown guys succeed. that's more fun. but it doesn't always mean that it's the right move. and younger isn't always better.

the knicks are a win now team.

the core is Tyson (29), Melo (28), Amar'e (29). those guys ain't getting any younger. Lin and Shump are young neophytes and needed a mentor like Kidd. Tyson NEEDED a backup like Camby to help insure Tyson stays healthy and to give us defense.

jorts could not be counted on to play start minutes if Tyson goes out for two weeks. Camby actually can be.
