You are right. I mean i like shump but he will be a non factor next year and im not ok with possibly going to teh secodn round. We are a win now team unlike the Thunder who have many years. yes nash is older but he is always in good shape and fufills our biggest weakness which is a pg that can get the ball to amare, melo, novak. Also he will help lin develop quicker i feel
But at the end of the day it cripples us 2 years from now, when we'll be talking about the Knicks enormous payroll problems with Melo, STAT, Chandler, Nash, and Lin. Long term I guess you start thinking amnesty on Nash or Amare in case of injury, but all 5 will be in contract for the next 3 years, Melo has a player option in the 3rd, Lin will have a balloon payment year 3. Looking at around $82 Mill for those 5 guys alone in 2014/2015. I just hate this is not a long-term solution, only another win now, make money $$ event that might only bring in the latter.
If this deal happens and includes just ONE draft pick in the next 5 years with none in return, I might have to bow out as a Knicks fan
