Here's what I'll say about the decision. 1. Nobody would have hated it if he stayed in Cleveland. 2. It was new territory. There's never been a free agent better than LeBron who you'd even think would leave.
Cleveland is pissed, but they should be pissed at Gilbert for being a ****ty owner. |

Lebron is such a unique talent it almost makes all of the assets the Walsh gave up to have the Knicks be a player in the summer of 2010 seem worth it.

It really was a pretty good plan, we just weren't able to execute, we would have had plenty of assets, and cap room even after those 2 were signed together as MAX.
Lebron TD Coach: Dantoni Unknown/Mid Season
2011-12, Lockout Year, Year 2 of IF Lebron and Amare 1)Lebron at point/forward and Amare at Center would have the matchups that Dantoni needed to cause mismatches to run his schemes. 2) Did we trade for another a "Star" or keep Gallo, Wilson Chandler, and sign FA with Tyson Chandler/Melo???? or add enter/reenter the Cp3, Deron, and D12 sweepstakes this year? 3)Who we draft with the Iman pick *might not be able to pick Iman if we have a better seating 4)Do we still get Lin? doubt he would fall to us in waivers.... 5) Do we save amnesty, or use it? 6) Does Wilson Chandler go to China? or training with Lebron/Amare/Gallo if he does, we would have him by the balls in negotiation of contract or he will be a RFA again next year... 7) Gallo is still in his rookie contract, will be a RFA next summer like Jennings/Lopez |

Unfortunatley there was some speculation as to why he didn't sign in NY that I don't think was accurate but was speculated on by reporters. The reasons LBJ didn't sign with the Knicks: 1.) He, Wade and Bosh made a pact to sign together in Miami. (I believe this is accurate) 2.) Mike D'Antoni doesn't coach defense and LBJ knows a team needs defense to win a championship. (Don't think this came up because I don't think he considered the Knicks) 3.) Walsh was in a wheel chair and looked old and feeble. (Don't think this came up.
