If we wanted Nash so bad why did we chase MDA out the door? No way this guy comes here.

Melo definitely wouldn't like Nash and STAT lighting up like old times. And as a result, Melo will pout, Dumblin will fire Woody, and Nash and Amere will be traded.

Guys give Melo too much credit with his "Cancer causing abilities". From recent memory, he was able to co-exist with Chauncey Billups and Andre Miller just fine. Andre Miller actually averaged 9 assists for 2 seasons in Denver, so not all those assists could be dump offs to Melo. Carmelo Anthony was able to share the ball with Allen Iverson without so much as a peep or ripple from either. Think about that for a second...Allen Iverson.

Exactly but lets all ignore that fact and place all the blame on Melo
Dude you really needs to cut out this obssession with defending melo on every single post. Nobody is even bashing the guy.

Irish, you need to stop pointing out people defending Melo in every single post.

I dont really its just this particlar poster says the same thing every post lol

It's all good man. Guns is good people, he's just all about equal opportunity blame. Somehow I get the feeling this "fence" with Knicks fans and whatever side you stand on will continue to exist until something significant happens, trade, title, or otherwise.

I dont have a "fence". Im just a knicks fan and have been since the 80's. Now I will call any player out if i feel they dont put in the effort or hurting the team. Also you shouldnt judge other knicks fan who are just as loyal as you and I iif they have opinions that differ

this send closk is better

I don't see Nash coming to NY. However, if Nash or Kidd signs here I think they are the starting point next year.

This team is keeping Lin. What they really need is a SG because their isnt 1 healthy 1 thats worth a damn on this roster.Another year with Landry Fields I can not stomach

Yeah, well he sure did pout when he was ask to buy in to a ball movement offense that wouldn't allow him to do his "Iso Shuffle" routine. That pouting showed the coach the door so now he can get back to jacking up 40 shots a night, and become one of the leagues leading scorers again. Alls well in Melo world!

Let me ask you a question Shell? Who's idea was it to run the Melo Point Forward experiment? And did Melo oblige, yes he ran the sets like coach asked the best he could. It's like asking Reggie Miller to post up instead of run around screens like he's used to. Now I know Melo deserves some blame for lack of conditioning, not completely buying into the system, not going as hard on D as his offense, etc...But if you have Zach Randolph, do you make him run point forward? Gotta play to your strengths. Also, we should've seen tons of Melo/Amare pick and rolls, but for some reason D'Antoni only uses Chandler as the designated pick man for some reason. Another thing is sticking with Toney D as PG too long, what the hell was that all about. Mike Bibby maybe a walking carcass, but he can run a PNR and hit an open shot once in awhile. You can't be so shortsighted to think that everything that went wrong this season is all on Melo, can you?

Steve Nash 'open to everything'
By Mike Mazzeo
Special to ESPN NewYork.com

Set to become an unrestricted free agent July 1, Steve Nash says he's keeping his options open.
"It sounds like a company line, but my situation really right now is I'm open to everything," the Phoenix Suns point guard told ESPN NewYork 98.7's Stephen A. Smith and Ryan Ruocco on Monday, "and I will definitely look at every situation that comes my way on Sunday, and I'm not going to close myself to any opportunities."

Nash is expected to have plenty of suitors, including the New York Knicks. The 16-year veteran has expressed interest in playing in New York and wouldn't be opposed to playing with Jeremy Lin or for coach Mike Woodson.

"I wouldn't have any fear of the fans maybe having a love affair with Jeremy," Nash said. "I think it's great. ... That doesn't really bother me."

Nash thrived in ex-Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni's high octane run-and-gun offense.

"Everyone knows I love Mike. We had some good years together," Nash said. "It would've been another factor, but what's in the past is in the past. When Sunday (July 1) comes around, I'm going to have to look at everything with fresh new eyes and see what's best for me."

The Knicks are still waiting to see how much salary cap space they have to add a player like Nash. An arbitrator ruled that Lin and Steve Novak should be granted Bird rights, enabling the Knicks to go over the cap to sign them. But the NBA has appealed.

The Knicks are just one of several teams likely to be interested in Nash. The Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks are also possibilities, as are the Brooklyn Nets if they can't re-sign Deron Williams. And Nash didn't rule out staying in Phoenix.

Nash is 38, so his career is winding down. He wants to win a championship but also wants to be compensated as well.

Nash said he worries about the possibility of taking less money to play for a team he believes is a contender, only for one of its top players to be injured -- or worse, for him to be traded.

"I have to be really careful and make a sound decision," Nash said.

Nash, who averaged 12.5 points and 10.7 assists for the Suns last season, still considers himself an elite point guard in the NBA and feels he can play three more seasons at a high level.

So would he rather join the Heat and win a title or be on the team that knocks them off?

"The truth is I'm a bit old school. For me, it would be hard to put on a Lakers jersey. That's just the way it is," Nash said. "You play against them so many times in the playoffs, and I just use them as an example, and I have the utmost respect for them and their organization.

"I kind of have that tendency (to try to beat the best teams), so it is strange, but as a free agent you're free to go where you want, so I'd have to consider everything regardless of the past or the future."

Come on Nash, anyone but the Heat please...
