I remember as a kid watching the pilot for the sitcom "Laverne and Shirley". It was a spin off from the widely popular "Happy Days" starring "The Fonz".
"Laverne and Shirley" was crap I thought and would not make it.
It ran for years.
"Jersey Shore" is crap. Lots of crap on TV these days. In fact, there is a long ass list of shows that suck thru the history of TV.
But what may be crap might be hugely popular and if so, its profitable. Very profitable.
Knicks don't have to be championship caliber to be poplular or profitable. They have to have stars and be competitive.
Dolan needed Melo. Melo has star quality. That does not make him an alpha championship caliber player but he is an allstar and puts up a lot of points. He is a modern Bernard KIng for us.
This team is good enough to win 50 games and maybe even go on a tear to the ECF if it gets hot. But its not championship quality and I doubt with our core it can be. Good popular players who are stars.
Why then does Nalod follow? I don't know.
Maybe "faith" is like religion. "Faith" is defined as "an unsubstantiated belief".
We choose to believe.
or, "we won't get fooled again"!
