In the end it doesn't matter what style you play so long as it's EFFICIENT. The problem is that Melo wasn't very efficient until the last month of the season. He was extremely efficient, but he seems to only be able to do that for a small portion of a season and not an entire season. ISO is fine if you score at a high rate. The Knicks need to find a balance to the offense that will work with the REST of the team too. The REST of the team thrived off ball and player movement. This is why MDA was frustrated and wanted to try and convince Melo to buy into what worked best for the entire team.
Woody must find a balanced attack that will benefit the entire team. Hopefully Tyson will come back with a little more offense and STAT can come back healthier and having added some kind of post move. If we can get a bit more variety out of them that would be good. Woody told JR to come back with a better midrange game and more drives to the hole looking to draw fouls. He said he didn't get to the line enough. I was actually pretty impressed with the few post moves that Jorts showed. He could be an asset if he can come back in even better shape and with a more refined bigman game. Landry gets bashed but he did improve his driving and passing. The only thing was his shot was horrid. If he can get his shot back, I think Landry is a solid role player for this team. There's lots of room for improvement even with the players we have already.
