He was also given an opportunity, by MDA, to play through his mistakes. Linsanity wouldn't have taken off so well hadn't it been for everything aligning the way it did. This isn't to take anything away from is efforts but we got really lucky and those two weeks were def a couple of the best weeks of basketball in the last 10 years of Knicks basketball. Thank God for Linsanity! Can't wait to see him play next season (hopefully under the tutelage of Nash! It's a long shot but it would be great)

What Jordon accomplished over his years to the sport, marketing, and global attention from the world still has effects on the world today.
But what Lin did, in that short amount of time, during Linsanity, should be written in all history text books with marketing/business, was phenomenal.
He attracted global eyes on him, is epic, and developed fans overnight, rooting for the underdog to succeed.
Anyone, from woman, kids, to grand parents, especially from the Asian culture, started to follow the sport.
From people that DON'T watch any sports, to kids believing that they can develop in to a "Lin story" without the size, length, athleticism, and skills needed to compete in the NBA.
From Harvard A+ PG, to another player possibly losing the chance to compete in the NBA, to a global phenom overnight.

Yao Ming was a player that had the size advantage, but Lin is the first true PG to accomplish it as a starter in the NBA.
Many parents and kids, believe that they have ability to make it to the pros.
But not many Asians or Asian Americans have that confidence to ever be such an impact player as Lin.
The money that Lin can generate is absolutely amazing, while he seems to always say the right things, and has a true heart for the love of the game.
Not looking for attention, staying humble, giving effort and always giving the team/teamates/coaches credit.

I hope this can be step towards stereotyping, appreciating other cultures, and a battle towards the end of racism.
Something Bruce Lee tried to achieve and now has Lin can continue on his own cage, on the court, at MSG.

I agree it konda was the perferct storm but the season mightve been somewhat salvaged had dantoni gone to Lin and novak sooner then game 27. He stuck with TD far too long imho. We problably win those celtics/bulls game had Lin played more than 6mins. Almost has the season with TD and Shump at PG. Heck Woodson even got production out of Bibby

Bump

Seems like a good time to relive Linsanity since the tension is at an alltime high and we can always use another Lin thread "OT"

hey. Melo goes out, team rallies and plays like a team, wins start coming, hope flows like cold beer from a tap. Must have been tough for MElo to watch his team slip away from him but with Dolan's help all has been fixed. The ship has been righted. The future is bright! Here we go!

I don't any Knicks fan will forget Linsanity. It was a great story and the most fun I've had watching the Knicks in a long time. Time will tell whether we made the right decision or not. However, I'm not looking forward to the The Knicks Made a Mistake Threads when the kid has a good game as well as Linsanity is Dead Threads when the kid has a bad game.

If he turns into a legit all star, the Knicks will sign him when he's 32 and has had 2 knee operations so it's probably not goodbye forever.

Funny to watch that clip of the Sixer Game now and see he shot 4 for 17. Also on one of his last drives he had a wide open Melo on the side and ignored him. I think Pablo hit it on the head when he said Lin is a scorer not a point guard.

They didn't play like a team when Woodson took over? The 18-6 team played better ball than the team that beat up on the Wiz, Wolves and Raptors....

I guess you (unlike me) don't get sarcasm with smileys.

And your post about OT in the topic line, i would think, deflated the force of the whole posting in the holy Knicks forum argument.
