I don't blame Amar'e for everything that has gone wrong with the Knicks- to do so would be silly. I do blame him for HIS contribution to the problem. For example, his lack of defensive effort, and that idiotic move, putting his hand through a glass fire extinguisher case.

Although I can understand why some here feel the way they do, I just try my best to look at the big picture.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I don't blame Amare at all, but what the guy does well this team doesn't need.

I thought Stat could come back strong, but he looks like he is in a decline from the very top of league, which is where the knicks need to go to beat the heat.

Sadly that might be the only way to move him in a straight up trade.

Realistically we need to get back a superstar or multiple Allstars to compete in the East. That means we will have to package him with Chandler and/or Lin.

Yeah, maybe you get them to give Maxiell too, making the bench really strong. Or trade Fields for a blue collar Power Forward.

Lin
Shumps/BG
Melo/CV
Forward/Novack

Nice job knick fans. The guy is playing back from injury and many want to hit the "emotional trade button" as if that will help.

They guy is trying. Had a bit of pressure trying to work it thru with Carmello. His physical condition was not in place. His brother died. he loved his brother. He lost the weight and got back into condition and was playing brilliantly until his back gave out. He at least came back and played and has been getting better every game.

Well put.

Especially by someone who will only watch the game on fast forward DVR.

Last year he showed that he had alot more in his repertoire than I thought and he overachieved in my eyes. I was happy he played so well, but still had major concerns about his resemblance to Kurt Thomas on defense, and a body that I figured was ripe to break down.

Defense & rebounding still suck, and his body is breaking down. I'm back to my original position, we shouldn't have gotten him. In fact, we would have been better off with Chris Bosh. I know hindsight is 20-20, but if you could plug Bosh in right now, isn't that a major upgrade?

Yes, Bosh performed so well with his 9 points in Game 1. You're funny: tune in next week to hear Killa4luv say: "wouldn't CP3 be an upgrade over an injured Linsanity?" "Aren't Gallo's dunks in a playoff loss more inspirational than Melo's?"

No, you wouldn't have, because you'd still be sitting there trying to decide if you should use the Bic lighter or a kitchen match.

Despite the fact Stat's got a max contract, and we all know how easy those things are to move immediately. Despite the fact that I was happy two or three sentences ago with his overachieving play. Despite the fact I'll change my mind about melo next week.

Good thing martin and andrew let women post here. It's always good to get this type of menopausal view on things...

Disagree with my position all u want. Call me a woman and we can deal with that at the next UK get together. Ok tough guy.

Nothing emotional about wanting him gone. As i said i NEVER wanted him to begin with. It appears reading comprehension isnt ur strong suit.

Maybe now after this incident he will agree to play with our second unit.

I think its safe to say that the Knicks will move heaven and earth to trade Stat in the offseason, no easy thing. You have to build the team around Melo. If this team needs anything its a fast, pass first PG, who can also defend. That is if Lin is gone or doesn't work out. Melo didn't get to the conference finals until Billups showed up.

I know Stat has had a rough year but this team has to build around the better and relatively healthier player, Melo. Just too many years left on Amar'e's contract not to see what else is out there.

Emotionalism isn't my point about your non-position, mr. tough guy reading comprehensionist. It's your flip-flopping on something as simple as the near impossibility of trading a max contract less than two years after the signing, after the lockout and the new CBA. And after, as you point out, Stat's delivered in the past on several fronts.

And if you're not being emotional, why are you typing in CAPS?
