I wouldnt' look at it that way. for one it wouldn't be permanent it will only be until amare gets back into the groove. Also it will help our second until which has been weakened

I'm talking about benching Stat for the rest of the season, and for some reason they can't make the playoffs. A couple of games is no big deal, I agree.

I think its the right move- and at this point its not that controversial. Amare's back is an issue- we have to be careful with his minutes anyway.

i would bring Amar'e off the bench, but i think Woodson starts him. it's a pride thing with amar'e. you have to respect him as a leader of this team. he was playing GREAT ball the 5 or 6 games before he went out. start him, but limit his minutes. try to have stretches where amar'e is leading the second unit while melo rests.

having amar'e back is not a bad thing.

Maybe Amare could be the bench. Oh wait. That wouldn't be good for his back. Nevermind.

If STAT will be back soon, it may be against Miami this Sunday.

We'll see...

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I have no idea why people are saying Melo is scoring liek this cause he is playing the PF...he's just hitting the same shots he was missing when he was off. I think it has more to do with being in shape and lack of injuries. When you don't have your legs it kills your game. Same goes for Amare when he was looking like a beast again before getting injured. It's that simple.

Team was looking very cohesive and imposing with all the starters healthy. The great play now is just a continuation of good play before Amare got injured.

to me, it's not about melo playing SF or PF - it's about the floor being spaced correctly. they haven't really figured out spacing with amar'e and melo on the floor, though under woodson before amar'e got injured most recently i thought they were starting to figure it out.

Thats because Amare plays alot like a small forward.

That's what I'm saying..I think we all need to wash hwo the team looked away under D'Antoni...I don't see why the Knicks wouldn't excel with Amar'e and Melo starting under Woodson. They looked great before the injuries. spacing wasn't an issue. In fact I would say spacing was better and shots came easier with the team at full strength. We were blowing teams out with the full team because the offense was more explosive.

Melo, Amar'e, Chandler, Shump & Lin...with BD, Smith, Novak, Fields & Jefferies off bench...balanced balanced team.

Amare should play 15 min at backup C and 5 at backup PF. They could gradually increase the PF minutes up to 15.
