The 9-2 record is as good as any coach’s in the NBA, and that’s sort of a declaration in itself. The players have really responded to Mike. The [Jeremy] Lin kid responded to the chance he had under Mike, the team’s gone 9-2, and they haven’t had anything remotely close to that performance over 11 games. You’d have to be an absolute idiot not to see all of that."

At the same level one could say: "with Melo out and Linsanity taking over you'd have to be an idiot to see a 8-1 record that the team is much better without Melo. The KNick players are intense on defense and the ball going thru Lin opens the offense!"
So basically one could advocate for MDA, Linsanity, and the extraction of Melo based on the same logic.
Hard to discrespect a man like Knight with his cred but the guy is advocating for one of his legacy guys and its natural he'd like to see Woodson keep the gig and succeed. IN fact, Im sure all but the "More important Im right Fan" wants Woodson to succeed beyond our wildest dreams!
In leu of a starphuch name I'd be pretty confident to say Woodson will get his chance. Personally I generally advocate for the knick coach as its usually roster chemistry that does these guys in. I root for woodson as I rooted for the last 8 coaches in the last 11 years.
Not that Coach K would ever do NY, but give hime the reigns to steer the franchise and hire his successor while remaining "Chairman".
This Franchise needs "Culture".
With Dolan at the helm its erratic.
I doubt he would ever do it because of the erratic impatient owner.
But Donnie was close. An older guy with big cred who sets out to build a winning culture top to bottom.
Donnie built a sand castle and Dolan thought it would be fun to jump on it. Its his sand castle.
Legacy guys know what it takes to build. Dolan is willing to spend the money but its boring to do it the right way.
Ok, thats not gonna happen here.
Bobcats Jordan is getting all kinds of heat for tanking but the guy might finally be getting it right. Take the franchise to low depths and build thru the draft. Numerically they should have the first pick in the draft, and I think they might have additioal picks. The logic of "Michael sucks as owner" is true until otherwise proven but if successful there are great rewards. Seattle did this and now OK reaps the benefits with a solid core. POrtland for taking Oden helps!
This is not Durham, and Coach K turned down gigs in LA and Boston before. Just wonder if he is frustrated with the past current season and up for a challange. Not sure his mojo works at the pro level, would even consider such a thing, but his cred is heavy and if given a few years to build the legacy and install "his guys" to run it might produce a generation of a contender.
Just dreaming.
