But I can't stand the falsehoods.

Amare adn Carmelo are averaging around 33 minutes per game. That puts them around 50th. This is the least amount of minutes Carmelo has ever averaged.

Amare last year
October 36.6 minutes, 24.3 points, 52%
November 39.5 minutes, 29.8 points, 54%
December 36.1 minutes, 25.7 points, 45%
January 35.4 minutes, 24.3 points 54%
February 37.2 minutes, 24.3 points 50%

its the excessive pounding and lack of respect from the refs that is the issue - not minutes. That's insane. He did play excessive minutes during Linsanity but we had no choice - who else was gonna play?

I don't think Douglass is an option...he's just dumb...like when he came in in garbage time against the Magic when we were trying to use the clock and immediately sprinted to the top of the key and jacked up a brick with 20 seconds left on the shot clock...?WTF?

He probably didn't get the memo MDA is gone.

Your right...he should start fights and get technicals.

MDA did that with everyone.

MDA drove STAT to the ground last yr too when he averaging 30 pts a night playing 40 min. wouldn't be surprised if that was a factor leading to his current back problems.

Didn't MDA play Lin one game 45 out of 48 minutes? Oh yea, Utah! FUKING D'ANTONI!

AI use to play 40+ minutes every f'n night.

it's that type of tit for tat selfishness that keeps Melo from being one of the greats.

please, no serious responses to this post.

That's why he broke Lin's knee.

I was the first to raise this way back in early February, when I said:

That black bandage around his knee could be cause for concern. Bad knees already?

And I was told it was normal for guys to wear those and that it wasn't cause for concern.

if he was top 10 for PG in terms of minutes, it was excessive because without looking at who they were, I bet all of them have been starters and logged big minutes in this league, and none of them came out of nowhere.

Why? What did they do wrong here? Although it doesn't apply in this situation, historically, the Knicks have gotten lots of old, injury prone players. That's the owner's fault, not the medical staff's.

Yeah he did wear down. Also, last March there was a conflict in words/actions that kept occurring. On the one hand the new team needed to get in the gym and practice to get to know each other but on the other they were so worn out that they needed time off and instead didn't practice on off days.

Do you guys think that Lin's knee troubles stems from all the hits he has been taking from the opposition?

i think that's part of it. he's taken a lot of hits where he hasn't always landed evenly on both feet—plus all the jumping he does when he penetrates. my main concern is how he's going to bounce back mentally. a lot of players always play a bit tentative post surgery.

another concern is if the knicks miraculously get to the 2nd rd of the playoffs and he comes back, he's not going to be in game shape let alone playoff game shape. he's going to have to come off the bench i'm assuming.

I don't think so. Those are head and upper body hits. The knee issue issue could be anything from playing on assault too much when he was younger who knows

1.) It was for 10 games. If he can't play 36 minutes over 10 games he has no shot to last in this league. He can't be taht fragile can he?
2.) This injury appears not to be related to the 36 minutes per game he played over those two games
3.) Because we constantly fire our coaches and D'Antoni is on the hot seat at that time, with all the injuries we had, there is no way he is resting the one guy that is leading us to wins. This is why we need stability. We need to support our coaches so they can coach for now and the future. Not just to save their jobs. They coach very differently when that is the case

I just hope that people will like me

One thing that kind of stood out to me was his slam dunking ability--even from the beginning of his play with the Knicks. One thing that you took away from his college play was his hops--he's ot JR Smith but frankly he could throw down way better than what we have seen with the Knicks; When he dunked from the side on that brake away a few weeks ago I was like what? Like one of the articles mentioned--he was probably hurt along--remember he wore a knee sleeve quite quickly. I think it would be in the teams and Jeremy Lins best interst to shut him down for this season-- and rehab it perfect.

+1 to that. The voice of reason says be glad we got our PG of the future and don't worry about winning it this year. If BDiddy, Melo, Tyson and Sweet Strokin' Steve can get us to the second round, good for us. We don't need anything more than that this year. Besides, chances are we pull an 8th seed and lose to one of the badass teams this year.
