Things Fall Apart

Dude, if you have ever been in an NBA trainers room, you would see that damn near everyone is getting some form of treatment this time of year. Everyone.

On gameday, there is much more than a simple shootaround going on.

It is not pretty.

Injuries? We talking 'bout injuries?

How about Danilo Gallinari, who I love, fracturing his ankle and his thumb within the past six weeks. If he was really a team player, he woulda drank more milk, make his bones strong.

The star forward indicated he’s not 100 percent. Occasionally a trainer will spend time flexing his wrist before a game in the locker room.

You could look it up.

The problem is that it's not like he just had one freak accident. His entire body is falling apart.

This is coming from the one who Pines for Gallo who sprains his dick going to the bathroom.

How is his body doing? Or, is he just one big freak accident?

So many nutrionists and experts on bone density here. Melo is banged up and his offense is in the tank, but at least he's out there. I have a hard time drawing a line from a strained groin and sprained wrist to "administer the last rites."

good point.

injuries happen and personally im not ragging on melo for being injured. it happens. injuring your wrist has nothing to do with being in shape.

i don't like the fact that melo dogged it just because he didn't like playing for the coach. that is pathetic. i shouldn't have to worry about whether the best player on the team is going to give max effort. he orchestrated his way here so it's time he acts like a leader and plays hard every minute of every game, the same way guys like durant and kobe do. just play hard, not alot to ask.

This says a lot about the character and make up of a player than any injury he has had.

Uh, no. But since none of us have seen x-rays or charts or detailed training regimens or 24-hour surveillance footage of Carmelo Anthony's daily living habits, I find it a stretch to begin the armchair kinesiology diagnoses.

This is a more valid angle I think and something far less sillier than "ZOMG Carmelo is that fat kid from The Sandlot."

You get paid top dollar--you need to produce every night. And "produce," to me, is never being outworked by your teammates.

His body's doing better than Melo's, he schooled Melo when they met, and he's having a much better season than Melo. Next question?

Agreed; that's why I can only assume that if he's out there every game and playing during all-star weekend, he's either not seriously injured or stupid.

Sure if you look at the wrong stats you won't notice a difference. If you were a baseball GM, you'd probably still be looking at AVG, HR, and RBI.

Bonn, I think I found the "right" stats you were looking for:

Gallinari
Number of phallic nicknames: 1

Anthony
Number of phallic nicknames: 0

Advantage Gallo!

The pressure being on Melo is the best thing that could happen to us. We blame the coaching staff for everything and the "dogging it" is always the result. That's what Bip has been sayign for years. Fans of NY have to put the accountability on the players. Melo has no where to hide now and he knows it. If he goes after Woodson, NY will explode. He has no choice now. Amare has no choice now. Lin has no choice. They all must perform. I love it! Finally
I just hope that people will like me

I agree. That was the best thing to come out of MDA resigning. It takes away the excuses at least for now. If Woodson makes any kind of slip up, they'll be fast to lay it on him in the end. Sad but true!
For now tho, since the team is clearly giving max effort every night, there's nowhere to hide. If you don't give max effort you'll stick out. Now it's all about BB. TEAM BB!!!

I actually think the chances are high that they will maintain it this time. For one thing, there's no more changes waiting to happen. We're not waiting to add anyone else in. There's no dreaded adjustment as there was when STAT, Melo, Baron and JR joined the action. Everyone has adjusted and seems to be settling into their roles. They're comfortable with Woodson now and he is with them.

Now it's all about maintaining the effort and perfecting what they're doing.

Yes!!! Now they are and need to be accountable. And, for numerous reasons there was very little accountability before.
