He has the ability to run the offense the right way, he chooses not to. He does not help Lin, he turns his back on him. This is a team CANCER. Get rid of it before it spreads too far. They do not need Melo and they do not need Davis, trade them both to Phoenix for Nash and Frye or Dudley. It really doesn't matter who comes back. It is addition by subtraction. MDA has to be pissed. He dealt with all the BS for 2 years then gets STAT and a team that he likes and is winning! Then they give him another Marbury! If I were him, I would be dreading the day, I turned down Chicago. He is not without blame here but really, the man has been given a very difficult player to deal with.
Oh and Gallo wins another one for Denver last night....TEAM BALL in Denver.
Defense and Dirk ball won the 'chip' last year.
your talking about chips? We are building around a player who's advanced in the playoffs ONCE
Thanks for another surface answer....Thanks for neglecting that pretty much every series the Nugs lost they didn't have homecourt advantage (with the exception of 1, I believe) and lost to the Spurs and Lakers.
I'm not even the biggest Melo fan, just trying to fair in these one-sided arguments. Its not so much that we need Melo, per se to win a chip, but this 'equal opportunity' offense which neglects the hot hand unless your the pg just isn't championship quality IMO.
I see your point about the offense but the facts are that the MDA system with a PG that can run it and shooters around, can win 60 games. Also if not the fight vs SA, they would have won that series and been in the finals. What has MELO and his game done?
PJax runs his system too. The difference with him is that is that MJ, Kobe and Shaq bought into it. I actually think his triangle would be good for Melo. So when MDA gets fired and PJax gets hired, NY will be better. However, Melo will still be selfish Melo.
Also, yes Dirkball was crazy and the Defense was the reason but when has Melo shown he can be Dirk? Dirk has a ring, Melo has a soft belly.
thats the overall problem and for the life of me, why do all these so-called smartest/knowledgeable NY fans continue to talk about offense when defense wins 'chips.' Regardless of what you think about the offense, how sloppy its looked, etc, we've scored about 101 per since Melo's return. Thats more than enough to win in the current NBA. Ever watch a Bulls game and how pathetic they look on offense at times? Defense will win games when the offense is struggling. We essentially have an offensive coordinator on out sidelines.
