Every shot he takes, gets critiqued...I have never seen him rush shots or take them so quickly in his career...On the video, he gets under his stoke, which he rarely does now...
Every star player does ISO..Everyone..It didn't start with Jordan as some has suggested here...Kareem did it, Bird did it, Magic did it, Artist Gilmore did it...Bron does it, Kobe does it..It comes with the territory...Not everyone jacks it up like Ray Allen...
This could be use to the team's advantage, the pick and roll can be run from the high post and the low post thru Melo like how Duncan and the Spurs schooled us earlier this week...Lin doesn't have to be the beginning and the end of the pick and roll...This is the team guys like it or not...Players have to adjust, coach has to adjust...No one is blinking...Lets see who outlast whom...
What you describe is Melo's own doing. He's the one that needs to get his mind right and slow down and relax. He also at anytime can call for a PnR. MDA gave his total authority to run plays like a PG or Point F. It's all about Melo. He's a leader of the tam but needs to take the reigns and be a leader.
Those pick and roll has to be worked on in practice..It's not an in game call..Spurs run it to perfection, they worked on it many years ... Coach need to get his mind right too...
You don't know what you're talking about. Lin, Melo, Shump, Fields, JR or Baron can call for a pick at anytime!!! They all know what to do once a PnR is called for. The players not in the PNR know that they need to spread the floor and so it's nonsense to think the players don't understand what to do in that regard.
The Spurs have basically adopted MDA's offense. Yea they have a few tweaks, but it's really MDA's PnR spread offense.
what blows my mind is that the Spurs--THE SPURS!!--have essentially mastered the offense in no time at all
Neal, Jefferson, Green, Bonner, Leonard, Ginobli when he has played, all have been shooting and hitting there 3s better then our guys like Shump, Fields, Smith so far, Melo, Jeffries. Spurs are shooting like 37%-45% out of those guys.
