He's not a coach you get to micromanage the action on the floor.

He's a free-flowing coach, everyone knew this. And what does the franchise do? Gives him one of the few star players in the league that requires micromanaging on the floor.

Every other guy on our roster can play MDA ball except for The One Guy.

But now it's D'Antoni's fault?

Come on.

Team wins when they play D'Antoni's style. This is a fact.

8-1 is 1/7th of the season, that's a significant chunk.

It makes no sense that they win 8 out of 9 games then go 2-4 or 2-5 or whatever they are now after Melo returns. IT'S OBVIOUSLY NOT THE COACH THAT CHANGED, BUT THE PLAYER HE IS BEING FORCED TO PLAY.

Let's get real.

Dude, how do you keep looking at different equations, yet you get the same answer? Its not black and white. These coaches are paid millions, think they are not looking at game film and studying Lin's tendencies? They are playing him differently. Not only that but these teams are different, Boston, Dallas a second time around around, miami, etc. That JJ, Walker and Lin lineup was not beating those teams.

Here is the scariest part about that statement. The Knicks did not employ advance scouting for the first two years D'Antoni was here and he was being paid millions of dollars.

wait a minute. The coach hires advanced scouts? or the GM/organization does?

I didnt know coaches took their own salary and hired the scouts, cause that's what you are implying.

I know that coaches were calling out D'Antoni for not using scouts or not watching game tapes because he wouldn't be prepared for changes they made weeks prior to playing to the Knicks. I linked to the article at least ten times and Andrew finally posted an article saying that the Knicks had started scouting again and preparing packets for players about opposing players tendencies in the 10-11 season. If you are suggesting that the former gm of the Pacers didn't value scouting and adjusting to make a point I don't think you succeeded.

you implied that the coach didn't hire scouts. Is that what you are saying?

MDA is not a very well prepared coach..

So when he was winning 60+ games and going to the WCF's what was the excuse for the rest of the league? All this crap about not being prepared for what the other team does is silly. This team just has to learn how to execute better. Nash is still running the same PnR offense he has for years.

It's about Lin who is a baby still learning and developing his game. Kid has only played 13 NBA games as a starter!!! He went from nothing to having to setup STAT, Melo and Tyson against teams that have been to the finals!!! Now we're trying to work with 11 player rotations. This is just ridiculous.

Crush, since you are so well versed in what coaches should be doing and what they are saying, please do tell me what teams and how many teams used advanced scouting. And how many scouts? All teams? Playoff teams? 1 scout? many scout?

Is this a Dolan decision? Donnie walsh? Coach decision?

Please inform me, because if you can't all of your assumptions are for ****.

Get the search function working and most of your questions will be answered. This has all been covered before.

what has been covered before is that you have blinders both for facts and for any reasoning have to do with MDA.

Let's get real.

It's really funny how you can't see what teams figured out from Miami. Everyone is trapping and stopping the ball. The player who set the phantom pick has cut to the hoop and bang! Offense sputters.

Melo had a bad game and is not playing well but what teams are doing to the knicks has nothing to do with Melo. In fact, without Melo, the knicks get killed in Boston.

No adjustments to the trap is the issue right now that is most alarming.

1b. Switching Defense

2. Knicks can't catch the phuckin rock

3. Melo can't hit shots

4. JR can't hit shots

5 Shump needs more minutes

6. Baron sux

7. Tyson is hurt

8. we need more ISO's

Guy. This isn't about what anyone figured out.

This is the NBA, teams "figure" stuff out within a game or two. Early in the Lin Run, teams had him figured out. It's 2012- teams employ I don't even know how many people to do just this, every day. We're not shipping film reels accross the country, where it would take a season to figure a guy out.

The problem is much simpler.
