Wouldn't doubt if the Knicks dropped 150 on somebody in the near future. We just got a glimpse of what they can do. I mean this is Lins first year for crying out loud! I think we looking at a dynasty being built here fellas, imho!

bingo... Melo in an open floor spread SSOL offense is going to be a problem? Really? And these people are paid to write their opinions?

I hated the Melo trade because the Knicks never get lucky and get good players, but they kept the right guy in Fields. The moves that made the Chandler trade possible took flat out balls that turned into a grandslam. Then we get lucky with Lin. Luck doesnt even describe it. This isnt like head from the hot girl at the pub lucky, this is like powerball lucky. If any fanbase was 'due' its this one.

When you look at the depth and talent, the system the coaches have in place, the moves this management has made... how do you not keep this group together for a couple years and see what they can do? All of them... coaches, staff, Grunwald... all of them.

You forgot a big one... Baron Davis being hurt just enough to be amnestied and scare off any of the teams under the cap, but not hurt enough to not come back and possibly make an impact this year. Its early yet, but he looked good last night, even if timing a little off and reckless. He gets a little under control, and I don't think we've ever had a better PG pair on this team in my lifetime.

And another bit of luck: JR Smith. Whatever he gives us is just gravy. But I was impressed with him last night. Crazy scrappy D. When that shot starts falling, he's gonna be a huge factor for this team.

so much luck. if Baron gets well sooner, maybe Lin gets cut. if Shawne Williams signs with us, we miss out on JR Smith AND Novak.

Forgot about Novak. I won't credit that to luck as much as a terrific signing by Grunwald, but man, was a great compliment to this team. He's our Steve Kerr. AUTOMATIC!

If (Harrellson) hadn’t taken that spill during the third quarter of the Nuggets game, there’s a good chance Jeremy Lin would still be running point for the Erie BayHawks.

Without Lin, you could make the case that the Knicks – winners of seven of nine games in this new, most unlikely of eras – wouldn’t have had near the appeal to free agent gunner J.R. Smith, himself fresh off a multi-month rampage in China and eager to join a team in contention.

In this Bizzaro World, Smith would have likely signed with the Clippers, in the market as they were for shooting guard prowess.

Another assist to Carmelo Anthony for his role in convincing JR Smith to come home.

I don't get this one. Please illuminate me. Are we just talking roster spots?

Will this also be disspelled as another MSG corporate myth?

John Starks on record as saying he doesn't recall Carmelo vouching for JR.

And Alan Houston disavows any knowledge of Starks, vouchers, or head butting.

Oak was unavailable for comment, since a local cabana boy was busy kicking his azz.

When last reached, EeeCurry says he's still hungry.

Ewing is angry, feeling hurt and rejected over the whole affair.

Mase denies mulling offers to provide consulting services to JR Smith's barber in the hopes that subliminal messages can be passed quietly between Melo, JR and Lin.

At this point (believe it or not), I feel I've done enough criticizing of Melo and the trade. I regard the trade as a poor gamble that still has the potential to work out very well and I'm at least a little encouraged by Melo's attitude during the last two games.

Yea, I'll never forget Gallinari, but if Melo shows me some love by dropping 40 tonight in a Knicks win, and Lin has 20 with 15 dimes, I won't lie: it's going to get easier for me.

But I still need to see a healthy 10-game stretch to solidify this good feeling.

I was against the trade until I could see what most of the players they traded could do as Knicks. It became clear to me that most of them were expendable when we were getting someone in Melo's league in return. When the trade was made I thought the price was a little steep but well worth it.

Gallinari is not expendable. Very few players in this league can give you 17 pts on 11 1/2 shots a game. You see how well Den played with him and how much they've struggled without him?

OK, fair enough. That was a little vague though.

I don't like Melo's play of late, or rather since he's come to the team but at least last year he was scoring. We need him to produce. This isn't hate, this is just watching him play and consistently not being able to shoot - the whole year!

If he was producing and there was hate that would be one thing, but he isn't producing, so the hate is more like complaining. He can shut all the haters up (if that is what you call people calling him out for playing like SHI*T) by just playing like what he is getting paid. At least Stat is starting to play better, but I don't doubt one of them get's traded. And if it continues next year, than the other.

I do wonder if Melo is playing bad because he is just trying to change his game to a more team oriented one? Even when he gets a pass and is relatively open (like last night), he puts the ball on the floor, does an ISO move, steps to his right, shoots??? Why??? Just shoot the ball to begin with.

Every game I watch and think "This is the game. HE will turn things around. bla bla bla". I'm tired of supporting him when he is a star. If he produced last night he would have changed the game for us and made things easier on Lin. Lin gets a pass, one bad game in 11, but Melo, I'm just looking for him to turn back on... still waiting.

It really is just Gallo who is the only one I think is a loss. I never thought Wil would have been re-signed, Mozgov is an okay rotational big (not nearly the caliber of Chandler) and Felton has imploded. Or, rather, exploded.

You know what sucks? You replace Melo with Gallo on this team and we're 50 times better. We slay the Heat last night.

Real Talk.
