Looks like someone's got a bit of a hard on for ol' melo huh lol. Lin doesn't deserve all the credit guys like jeffries, tyson, shumpert, and novak have played very well. for the first time since early last year this is a team. Im sorry but people have every right to be critical of melo i mean if he would have just waited for FA im telling you he wouldn't have as much heat on him but her made the wrong decision. Now im rooting for melo to be a team player because im a knick fan.

This argument is disingenuous. Dolan and Walsh made the trade Melo didn't. Melo wamted his money, it's not is job to make the GM of the other team look good. We didn't have to trade for Melo we did that becuase our owner was too F###ing greedey, that is NOT Melo's fault. The hate on Melo here is about as irrational as he hate on MDA.

I dont hate melo. I mean if you read other posts i was all for bringing him in via FA this way we could have still gotten paul via trade. I mean its easy to say forget about the tarde but it has hurt us until recently so as a bigtime fan i was upset. True Dolan made teh bonehead move but melo said he would go to new jersey so he didn't make it easier. If you want to be a on a ceratin team you sacrifice like lebron and bosh did. now i hate thsoe guys but they made the smart decision

What Lebron and Bosh did was predetermined and planned based on once in a lifetime type of timing opportunity. We never had a shot of getting three stars at the same time so the question of getting into an arrangement like that didn't even exist. You wanted Melo and you wanted him to take a pay cut and now you are taking it out on him because he didn't give up millions to make you happy? Exactly what does Melo owe you again?

Doesn't owe me **** whya er you protecting him lol. Look he could do what teh **** he wants. Im just saying if it were me i would rather play with a depper team and tae a little less. But thats just me i think things through more

See this is why it's hard to talk to you. I am trying to have a conversation with you and you go off calling me a Melo stalker. You said you had the right to criticize Melo for making us gut the team. I was pointing out that is a flawed conclusion and Melo didn't force anything. You wanna blame someone pick on Dole-ass.

I think Melo is the exact opposite of the type of player MDA needs, Tyson on the other hand is the prototypical MDA player. But I don't hold it against Melo that Dolan/Walsh traded for him. I think he tried to do what MDA asked him by being the point forward and it didn't work. I don't see any evidence that he wont try to fit the team concept when the team concept is actually working.

OK you judt took that completely out of context. My response was around Melo not taking a pay cut to fulfill JCrusher's personal desires.

sorry. i didn't read the whole argument.

honestly though, i don't understand why everyone is leaping to Melo's defense. he's the guy who held the Nuggets and all his old teammates hostage last season instead of playing out his contract the way Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Amare, Joe Johnson, Rudy Gay and all the other free agents did.

he's the one that made this a circus with his "have my cake and eat it too" approach. despite the fact that it was Dolan's decision to acquiesce to Melo's demands, it was Melo's stance that forced our team to give up valuable assets for him when we theoretically could have picked him up as a free agent. so now he's understandably caught a lot of backlash when the team underperformed due to a lack of depth and poor construction.

i don't understand how he can, in any possible way, be painted a sympathetic figure. he warmly embraced all the accolades and the heroic welcome when he arrived. he can now accept all the criticism that comes with unmet expectations.

i think the wins will keep coming. only difference will be our margin of victory will soon be through the roof once Melo and Amare are integrated. we're gonna be very hard to deal with.

Exactly. Any residual resentful for Carmelo should be on Dolan for forcing the loss of additional assets. That is why Walsh walked.

I miss Wilson Chandler as much as the next guy but today is a new day and life goes on. Walsh was about to put the final touches on his career masterpiece, his legacy, and Dolan scribbled all over it. But, it's Dolan's toy so he can do what he wants. He signs the checks.

Ten days ago were were screwed.

Today, we are counting the minutes until the Raptors game.

Carmelo's season starts next week.

all melo has to do is stop doing those stupid isos and move around. if he does that he will realize that he will get easier shots and the offense will be harder to stop with lin having many options.

Agree, but those stupid Isos are the failures of Douglas, Bibby and Shumpert, not Melo

Melo will get the blame if the team loses (not if Lin's scoring goes down). He'll get the credit if the team wins. That's the way it works when half the team is traded for you.

Yup. Look lin is our pg he doesn't need to score 25 every game. His job should be easier with those two and even if his poibts go down his assists will rise

hear what you saying about "new marbury"
But think Melo is far less of a knucklehead than the talented Marbury. Marbury's own self demise

Folks also forgot Steph got into D'Antoni doghouse
D'Antoni dont get a pass here since he puts people in his doghouse & its like roach motel you go in & dont come out!

Cant figure out when you get on D'Antoni wrong side you never live/play a lick back then.

But back to Melo he needs time so I think poster here same premise i wrote
Melo gets too much blame now and Knicks are winning. All cause Melo return expected by weekend

Lin will have his ups and downs. But he is OUR PG
Knicks arent' going to win rest of games & lose none so..
we need to be realistic.

we will find with Lin many other ways to overcome and win tough games.
That will involve Melo, Amare and rest of Knicks to keep it going. Also D'Antoni coaching

"I know there's questions about can I fit in and stuff like that," Anthony said, "but this is like a dream come true to me ... It's not even funny. It's more exciting than anything, the buzz that he's created here in New York, here in the NBA as a whole. Like I said, I just want to get back out there and be a part of that."

Yep
Remember and REWIND
what Melo 'nearly' did to Boston Celtics in 4 game sweep Celtics sweated out
with ailing Amare (invisible) and Billups (out after gm#1)

The Fields, the Toney D's and rest of Knicks did very little help to Anthony whom was on verge of Beating the hated Celtics by
himself but that script wasnt meant to be.

It was great. Been better if referees didnt steal 1-2 games from NY in the NBA playoffs 2010/2011 last April

DJ - Carmelo is smart enough to know a good thing when he sees it. The pressure is off him to carry the offensive load and he could not be happier.

He and Lin are probably sharing a late dinner in Toronto right now in OldTown.
