He's also going to have to stop holding onto the ball for so much. We are going to start losing games like that again because even though Melo does it a lot doesn't mean he's actually good at it. He's not an efficient one on one scorer.

We will see the ball movement because the game plan has been adjusted. In the past, Melo held the ball because he was the last resort for a scoring opportunity. Several times the ball went East and West, instead of drives to the rim with kickouts or scoring attempts. We were forced to rely on forced jump shots. Now we have the PG who is willing to go to the hole or kick the ball out for a in rhythm shot. Instead of pining for Baron Davis to heal, we now have the guard that allows him to heal properly and still we are in a productive situation. Put your trade gun away. Let's give our guys the benefit of the doubt.

Dwight's taken worst supporting casts than what we'd have left after this trade to 55 win seasons. Sign me up.

No

It was Melo who made several passes to Lin in the New Jersey game. Melo got Lin started.

They bow to each other.

Why is it so impatient to destroy Knicks team chemistry with another coveted outsider?

grass is always greener earl.

the thing that gets me is that people like this dude aren't even willing to give melo a chance to play with lin and wanted him traded immediately. melo has never played with a pg like lin or in the type of offense the knicks now run with lin so how can anyone say how melo will play? i think that's pretty short-sighted and stupid.

I want to see Melo fit in with this team. I say we keep him and see how he meshes in the offense. If he can't fit in we wait till the offseason to see how we handle the Melo situation but until than we keep him for the rest of the season. Better yet ill give melo till next year's trade deadline. Anyone else agree?

Meh! DH is a beast, but he's also a very flawed player in many ways. I think you undersell the impact of STAT, Melo, Tyson and Lin. That right there can be a very potent combo that is harder to handle that DH and his post game. Sure DH is a one man interior defense and rebound machine, but we have a very good collection of players already and I don't believe we become a vastly better team subtracting those guys and adding DH. It doesn't always work that way.

Right now with Lin teams will have a VERY hard time trying to stop our offense. The team also becomes deeper and so I feel very good about this team as it is. All we need is to have DH come and then twist his ankle and that bad supporting cast is less effective. Here we have more players and can survive injury to one guy.

That's absurd to say his trade value isn't still very high.

It's stupid to say. Rose has missed just as much time. Not surprising with short season. Melo can play.

The way I see it, we finally have the ingredients to have a very special team. We have the point guard and the defensive center we've coveted. We have a bunch of very nice if not strong role players. We have two elite scorers. We have youth and we have experience and we have depth, especially when we get everyone back. And our defense has improved significantly.

To not at least give this a chance would be the most absurd thing we have done, and that's saying something.

That said, to me, it is all on D'Antoni. He has a team that a really good coach would take places. This is his final chance. No more excuses.

Bonn has an agenda and its obvious he dislikes Melo. Don't let facts get in the way of his agenda.

fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

melo has a lot to prove. sorry buts the truth . Amare came here last year and helped the knicks. Lin started last week without two stars and we are 5-0. since melo has come here and the knicks have had a worse record. Belive me i wish i was wrong but that has been the truth so far. Lin needs to control the ball and amare should be the main option and when they double amare lin has melo and novak on the perimeter

“Melo’s a hell of a scorer, and he has to do what he does best,” Bryant said. “He’s a great rebounder, tough on the offensive boards, and he’s a handful on the block. I hope he has the stubbornness to stay with it and not let you guys talk him into changing anything about his game, because I damn sure wouldn’t."

Melo has nothing to prove...Absolutely nothing..He may be the best scorer in the league, period..Like every other young player in this league, what if Lin's game falls off...U really think he will continue at this pace, really??..U are just a poster, keep that in mind...

Aslo, I will guarantee you right now the Knicks won't beat teams like the Heat and Bulls without Carmelo..Won't happen...U have gulped the kool-Aid to the point where you are not making sense...

did i ever say trade melo. i never remembered saying that. what i did say is that lin needs to control the ball. melo needs to be a in the flow of the ball movement that they're doing. Yes i am a poster but i play absketball just about every day so i think i understand the game not on a nba level but i study it just like they do

If you are a Knicks fan, which I'm beginning to question, U better pray that Melo isn't listening to the chirping from section 401 and he is indeed the same player we traded half the team for last year...Check out his Stats against Boston last playoffs...Let me know what he has to prove...

been a knicks fan all my life. grew up with the great 90's teams that were only spoiled becaue of mj. I could give two ****s about personal stats. Of course melo puts up stats i want wins. look i know you are a MAJOR melo fan but you act like he is some hot broad you want to **** lol. I mean in your world he is best player ever. Its ok to point out his flaws it doesn't mean you are vbeing a bad fan it means you are being objective. The problem is that you go on a tangent and dont make sense. Trading melo isn't the answer i never said it was. the best thing to do is like i said let lin run the offense and break down the defense sho he can kick it out to melo or novak or he could set it up for amare or tyson. I agree Lin isn't gonna put up MVP numbers all teh time but there is one thing he has done and that is win. I mean like it or not and for some reason you dont like lin he has helped salvage our season
