"i think doleacs jumper would have brought big z out of the middle and our penetration to the hole would have been more effective."

Tim Thomas is the reason we lost this game. He's suppose to be our go to guy with Allan out and he only gets 10pts 6rebs in 35min. Stephon can't do it all by himself. I hope the booing of TT makes him stronger. It better or we're doomed.

i hope the garden boos him evryday until he understands how bad we can be if you don't give effort or produce. i can see it now bench-tim-thomas. ha

Plain and simple we gave up 2 good shooters for 2 roll players who are not starters.and its making us look like a mediocre team all over again.Granted Houston is not playing and we're missing his shooting, but if Keith and doleac were still with us we would have been alright.I'm not against bringing TT and Nazr at all.but my question is why not give up Kurt Thomas instead? we would have been more athletic and still have 2 good shooters....I realy honestly hope that it works out for us.

Starbury did have a 20 point fourth quarter and he extended his franchise record for most consecutive games leading the team in points and assists to 11. Just for some positive.

yeah when he finally go his head in the game It wasn't his fault though someone needed to call for the ball and step up and no one did.

Tim Thomas was a joke today. He started off well, but dissapeared along the perimteter for the rest of the game. And too often I saw him standing around watching the action rather than taking part. He needs to go more agressively after the ball and give a better effort on defense. He doesn't have the look of a consistent shooter, so he can't afford to play outside so much.

Bottom line is we could win games before without Allan Houston, but that was mostly because we got great efforts from guys like Van Horn, Doleac, Penny, Thomas and Anderson. There was no Van Horn and Doleac vs. Detroit, but Penny stepped up big. But now with Thomas and Mohammed playing we've had to adjust to them, and our other players are looking uncomfortable.

One of the only knocks on Starbury is if that his teammates keep fouling up he stops playing instinctively and presses too much. You want him to be agressive on the offensive end, but when he was playing well it was controlled agression. He was taking shots when he was hot. Now this adjustment period has seemingly thrown everyone off their rhythm.

We could deal with having to adjust again if we made a trade that netted us a superstar or Rasheed Wallace level player. It didn't.

he started off well cos the Knicks were going to him. Then they started going to Deke! and TT was too passive after that.

They always have a strange love affair with going to Deke in the first quarter, but I can understand it because you want to get him going. But when Big Z continually took him to school in the post they needed to toss Deke aside today and see if Nazr could live up to his rep of being a good man on man defender. I still can't get a good read on Nazr. From what I know he's a banger who gets cheap buckets, but right now we seem to need a Doleac type guy who can step out and still board and defend a little.

As for Timmy Thomas, if people complained about Van Horn being passive or soft, well we just got a guy who's definitely more soft and passive. Van Horn was streaky and had stretches were he lost some confidence, but he usually took it to the hole and tried to score in close whenever he could. We saw Tim try to do that once or twice this game, and then no more.

Ok so KVH is probably a little better than TT. Is that it? Are the knicks done for? No, we are fine bro. its all good. Knicks will be .500 this year.

THE SKY IS FALLING, THE SKY IS FALLING

haha some of you are funny. 2 games and this trade is a big mistake already? Come on get serious

1. Tim and Nazr need time to gell with the rest of the team
2. and this is way more important than point 1 is this trade makes the knicks a better team with Allen Houston playing.

The reason the knicks played like they didnt miss Allan Houston was because they had a player just like him in KVH. KVH and Allan play the same game. You cant have 3 guys in H2O, KVH and KT all shooting Jumpshots. So when Alan goes out and you put in Penny or Shandon you get a jumpshooter at the 3 and a slasher at the 2 this equals better balance. When H20 comes back you will have a jumpshooter at 2 and a slasher at the 3 this will give the team more balance and they will play well together. This trade was not made for the past 2 games, hell it might not have even been made for this season. But in the long run IT is trying to build a championship.

This trade would not have been made if Houston was not on this team. When he gets back this trade will be able to be judged fairly

Try a lot better. He's a more consistent, agressive scorer and can actually rebound as opposed to watching the ball. Tim Thomas really needs to step up and be a second scorer because we can't be all Marbury all the time.

So when exactly is he coming back? I'm sorry but that had to be taken into account when this move was made. Right now it seems like its gonna be a while.

Bottom line, this trade should've been left for the offseason. As of now with Houston out, we need a player like KVH and Doleac more than we need one like Mohammed and Thomas to succeed this year. Perhaps this trade can make us better in the long run, but it should've waited.

The idea is that unless it was one of those superstar getting, you gotta make this deal right now type of trades, than it shouldn't have been made. Right now this team has been subjected to too many adjustment periods, and they needed some continuity with a key cog like H20 out. The timing was bad.

OK man. You are right. This was a bad trade and all hell has broken loose. We are done for. Forget the knicks because they are going down in the History books as has beens. You are right. Isiah is a moron and we should get Layden back so that we can find consistent scorer's like KVH for our team.

C'mon...you are better than your last post...that last post was just being a prick.

Look, I've made my points above and that is what I feel. There was a nice continuity with this team before the trade that is not there anymore, and its gonna take time to recapture. There might not be enough games left in the year to do that. I really thought we were headed for a 4 or 5 seed and a possible shot at the finals, and the way I've seen them stink it up at home the last couple of games, its hard to feel up anymore.

Sometimes you just have too much turnover on the roster. I don't want to knock Isiah because he has worked miracles so far, but this might have been one move too many. There was no overwhelming need to make the deal.

If Houston is able to come back the argument might be rendered moot, but right now the team is slasher heavy and very dependent on Marbury to score a lot. I'm not gonna give up on Tim Thomas yet, but he needs to go out and shake his repuatation. MAybe this road trip will help him.

Who do you think you are calling me a prick? Ok figure this. Say the team is better with KVH because of the continuity, are you willing to sacrifice a better future for 5 games?

So what if Houston comes back 5 games later? the deadline was then and a trade had to be made then! A good trade came by and Isiah took it! What has he done so far for you to not trust him? Maybe this doesn't look like a winner right now but how do you know it wont be a winner later? What if Houston and Tim Thomas work perfectly with Stephon?

You made your point and I was not arguing but stop calling me names! Have some patience and dont get hyper! This is jsut a 3 game stretch. We have a lot more games to go. I trust Isiah because everything he did so far was good. I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. You dont want to, then thats fine! Stop being an a**hole.

What bothers me isnt the inablity of two guys that were knicks for less than a week to step up, but the inability of the other knicks to step up. Penny? 2-13? What was that? Thats def not worth the millions were paying him. KT didnt take more than a dozen shots. Deke, a great shot blocker and defensive player, couldnt hold Ilgauskas, of all people, to less than 30. Getting Rasheed or keeping KVH doesnt help our abominable low post d. This combined with the typical 30 fouls the Knicks commit, cost us the game.

Look, all I was trying to say is that your previous post was rubbing it in and over the line. I don't need sarcasm beaten over my head. I wasn't trying to escalate the argument with you at all. I am venting after a very bad loss, and I don't need someone essentially equating me to a crybaby. If you want to be very upbeat after two home losses, fine. I'm just a little frustrated right now because I was seeing good play, and all of a sudden its gone in a flash. If you are willing to let bygones be bygones I will. Just don't treat me like I'm a little kid.

The question is, do you think Allan Houston is really coming back in 5 games? Everything I'm hearing makes it sound like even if he does come back it won't be at 100%. We can't depend on him as he is a major question mark right now. Trading good shooters for non-shooters sort of amplifies his loss a little, don't you think?

I don't know if this trade makes us better in the long run. I like Nazr and not Tim so much. Who knows how each will respond? I may be wrong, but I'm willing to eat crow. I just want to see the team win. Its my opinion that the trade should've waited for the offseason, where there would've been time to adjust and make it work better. This was too late in the season to learn on the fly again IMO.

Penny seems to be a big game player, but at this point in his career we can't really depend on him to do great every night. His jumper is very inconsistent, and he seems a bit turnover prone these days.

As for Kurt Thomas, he has a sweet midrange J, but he needs someone to set him up. He looks clunky when he has to put the ball on the floor. He is very solid when shoots well right after a pass. Because of the lack of scoring from the other players, Marbury had to force the action more today than he would've liked, and thus Thomas wasn't getting as many setups. The whole 2nd half up untill the end the offense was thrown out of rhythm because Marbury couldn't buy a bucket and no one else was either willing to, or could create their own shot.
