Another PG, some still with potential, to be mentored, and ready to contribute at the same time
========================================================================================================================

1) Dragic *played very well when started for Lowry, this year*
2) Sessions
3) Udrih *player option, I have always liked him but he might need a sign and trade*
4) Dooling *nice combo guard, wouldn't cost much, and would team up with Iman defensively*
5) Janeero Pargo *nice backup player with quickness*
6) Gaines
7) Farmer
8) Delonte West

Another SG option
===============================================================================================================

1) Ray Allen *still one of the best shooters in the league and can produce for another 2 years at this level*
2) Terry *I know he isn't young anymore, but he is still one of the best clutch shooters. At his age, I don't know what his value would be, but I think the MLE is the most he can get*
3) Barbosa *MDA friendly, but has been inconsistent with injuries, suited as a 6th man role*
4) Anthony Parker *low volume shooter and shouldn't cost much, he resigned a 1year 2.5m deal with Cavs*
5) Belinelli

G/F I think we need a couple of different players in this position
=============================================================================================================

1) Mike Dunleavy *signed a 2 year deal with Bucks, think his versatility, IQ, and skills would fit NY pefect. However, has injuries the past couple years*
2) Delfino
3) Ariza *also has problems with injuries, his versatility and athleticism, and game can change the tempo and initiate fast breaks for the 2nd unit and starting at times.
3year deal left, with last as player option, making 6.8, 7.25, and 7.75, is a realistic S&T to save money for New Orleans, they have a couple players at the position*
4) Ersan Ilyasova
5) Budinger
6) Nicolas Batum *think he will get more than the MLE, not really a realistic option for us*
7) Wilson Chandler *don't think the full MLE would be enough, but really miss him*
8) Pietrus

PF/C We need someone capable of playing with TC at PF and Center with Amare
======================================================================================

1) KG *would work wonders on the defensive end with TC, however, at his age, would the full MLE be worth it, and would he even consider it?*
2) Camby *probably bi annual exemption*
3) Bass *player option and will most likely out of his 4m player option, would take our full MLE to sign*
4) Ak47 *wouldn't pay MLE for him, but would be a nice player to have*
5) Ryan Anderson *RFA, don't think hes a realistic option, way he is playing the MLE would be matched by Orlando
6) Mahimi
7) Boris Diaw
8) Ryan Hollins
9) Samardo Samuels
10) Turiaf

we have to replenish our bench with skilled players, more importantly we have to spend the money wisely, as we need to find the right players together...
I put some cheaper finds in each position and some more expensive ones...

Baron Davis or Nash
Delfino or Anthony Parker or Ray Allen
Melo
Ryan Anderson or KG
Tyson Chandler

Dragic or Sessions or Jeremy Lin or Janeero Pargo or Gaines
Dooling
Iman
Budinger or Wilson Chandler or Pietrus or Ersan Ilyasova or Ariza if we trade TD/Fields
Brandon Bass

Ak47
Camby or Mahimi
Balkman
Jorts
Jordan

RonRon - spend WHAT money wisely?

We have two max contracts and Tyson Chandler making a mint as well.

Baron Davis or Nash - Davis
Delfino or Anthony Parker or Ray Allen - no, and neither is interested. Ray Allen too expensive anyway.
Melo - already signed, ours
Ryan Anderson or KG - no, KG ain't coming to New York and he is too expensive anyway
Tyson Chandler - ours

Dragic or Sessions - neither
Dooling - no
Iman - rookie deal
Budinger or Wilson Chandler or Pietrus or Ersan Ilyasova or Ariza if we trade TD/Fields - fantasy stuff
Brandon Bass

Ak47 - no
Camby - too fragile
Balkman - no
Jorts - rookie deal good for another year
Jordan - incomplete

trading Amare for expirings this year, if things dont go well at the deadline, and then to fill up our roster FAs with that money in the summer.
I am assuming that should be our worse case scenario, maybe the expiring of Jamison + Filler, Amare gets to work with Irving...

How would you reshape the roster misterearl?

well instead of just pointing fingers at 1 or 2 players, or the coach.
Realize, we don't have much of a team, with a lot of holes, depth, and skilled players.
We don't have much options, with no draft picks, and money tied up to 3 players.
We have 3 exemptions to use in the summer, if we keep this core, and we still have a 2.5m exemption to use this year.
There are a lot of quality FA's this summer, its a realistic option for us to rebuild.
By going under the cap, we can also be in the biddings for next year amnestied players.

maybe hoping that we play better, and trading Amare at next years trade deadline, we could get more value out of him.
However, this years FA is strong, time is clicking and our guys were signed to win NOW.
Also if we start fresh next year, we will have a chance to have a training camp together.
I would like to sign players that will be on the same page and not worry about anymore trades, distractions, and lack of w/e...

Point guard or not. Amare is a max player who can not create for himself. He can not rebound and cannot play defense. Melo is injured and Amare is not picking up the slack. He is a Max player !!! is it too much to ask for him to score when he is the only scorer on this team? When Wade and LBJ was out vs ATL Chris Bosh led the heat to victory. Bosh had 33 points 14 rebounds. What is Amare's numbers without Melo? 14 points and 6 points. There's no excuse. If melo put that up you guys would be calling for his head.

this is why NixLuva and Briggs doesn't even post here anymore.
Cause the people here just know how to mock other peoples thoughts, opinions, and aren't capable of coming up with solutions.
However, when things gets rough, they point fingers in areas that aren't even the source of the problem....

Amare does not box out, he does not play good defense, he can not create his own shot, he constantly repeats the same mistakes...
He has no post game and when his game is based on athleticism.
When his athleticism is gone, he is in for a big drop off in production, if he cant do all this stuff when he still has it...

Pick your poison, trade Amare or Melo, cause they aren't going to work together with this lack of talent around them....

Melo can create for him self, He has a post game, and plays more defense than Amare. Melo is a great rebounder for his position.

RonRon: I know Dwight for Amare is no chance in hell.

Best Amar'e Trade Of ALL For This Guy

"2009-10:

Proved to be one of the NBA’s top free-agent signings, expanding his game and receiving the playing time to become one of the league’s best three-point shooters and most improved players… In his fifth career season and first with his hometown team, averaged 11.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and a career-high 0.9 blocks in a career-high 27 minutes while playing in a career-best 81 games… Registered the largest increase in three-point field goals made from one season to the next in NBA history (minimum 50 games played), racking up a team-leading 172 three pointers (4th-NBA) after making 11 threes in 63 games in 2008-09… Was remarkably efficient, shooting a career-high 43.9 percent from long range (6th-NBA)

Entered 2009-10 with 20 threes made in his four-year career (278 games) and then reached 20 three-pointers made in his seventh game as a Sun on Nov. 8 at Washington… Surpassed his single-season career-high of 11 three-pointers in his third game as a Sun… Quickly endeared himself to Suns fan by making a then-career-high six three-pointers in each of his first two home games (consecutive games: Oct. 30, Nov. 1), becoming the first center in NBA history to make six or more three-pointers in two-straight games and the sixth Sun in franchise history to accomplish the feat… Tallied an NBA-leading six games of six or more three-pointers made, most by a Sun since Raja Bell in 2006-07…

Stoudemire is reunited with his favorite point guard and we get a three point specialist with length.

Channing Frye

I'd love to trade for Dwight but the problem is taking on turk aswell. We might be the only team stupid enough to take Turk's 3 year contract. I mean he can shoot and fit's MDA offense. He is a true point forward. But he is not a PF. He can not rebound. Melo is our SF and turk is making too much money to be a bench player.

I'll take Hedo for three years. He can still produce, he can start, and getting Howard offsets any negatives that Hedo brings.
