There are a lot of good reasons why Bogans is NOT on the Chicago roster and which could point to more of a $ and roster spots than with his individual play.

Let's start with the obvious facts: he did start for Chi all of last year, so it would seem he has some sort of playable skills.

Also, Richard Hamilton came on to the market and the Bulls thought they could go for an upgrade.

Right now Chicago is paying Hamilton $5M, Brewers $4.7M, and Kyle Kover $5M all to play some minutes at the SG position... Bogans had a team opt out this year so they didn't owe him anything.

Bogans plays defense and is a spot up 3 point shooter, something the Knicks need and IMHO were hoping that Walker could fill. If Shump is starting and TD continues to be awful, the Knicks surely do need a big SG defender.

I am betting its a false rumor, and you seem to believe that Keith is an valid signing. We would have an answer on Monday.

well i have no idea who you are responding to. I have made no claim to think that Keith is going to be signed, but I do think he would be a good fit and that there are valid reasons why the Knicks would want to look into signing him.

My guess is that the coaching staff is quickly getting tired of Billy Walker. I just see him make stupid play after stupid play. His mistakes breaks the continuity of both the offense and defense.

That's just an awful idea.

I think having a point guard who can penetrate the lane is a major plus. I also don't think Mike Bibby is fast enough to be our point guard. Jeremy could potentially be our third point guard in case Shumpert, or Davis get injured. Have we figured out if Mike likes him yet, or does he need more time to make that decision. It hasn't been very long since we signed Lin.

Richard Hamilton is an upgrade. Hell rip is an upgrade on our roster. Bogans is an upgrade over Bill walker. He is a wayyyy better defender. He shoots a better 3 ball. His offense game is very similar. Bogans is a very good defender. Would you want a good defender like walker guarding wade or have Bogans guard wade? Ill take my chances with Bogans. Hell After Shumpert, Bogans would be the best Perimeter defender on this team. Anyone disagree. We know we can score. But we need defenders that can maintain leads or keep the game close while melo or Amare are on the bench. This is the biggest problem our second unit has. Plus he is a good spot up shooter which provides value on this team. Bogans>Walker. Anyday. Walker kills me.

Martin,

You think it is a good idea, while I am not enthusiastic about it.

So if they have signed him, I will take my hat off to you for knowing it was a good idea while I didn't. If they also cut Walker to create the space to sign Bogans, I will really be impressed.

Walker, Lin or Novak. Lin perhaps sent to Dleague; that's the most likely move with Walker losing minutes once Bogans gets acclimated.

What is Bill walker good for? He is got to be one of our worst bench players. If he played Good defense I could forgive his poor offense. But he takes poor shots. He defense is horrible. He always seems to commit bone head fouls. He is one of the reason our team plays bad. Outside of Bibby's last two game. Bibby, Walker and TD is killing our team.

I too was hoping that Brown would stick but it's clear HE wanted back to Charlotte. That's his hometown?

The more I think on it, the more I am convinced signing Bogans would be a good idea.

I am also in favor of going after Nash and Wilson Chandler next year. All of those guys would super solidify the Knicks.

Do you still think that Nash will have enough left in the tank next year? He has alot of off nights this year and he will only get worse defensively.

Still makes me sad that we didn't/couldn't get Rubio. Today he had 13 pts 14 assists and 6 rebounds. He woulda been ferfect to set up our scorers (though also a pretty weak defensively)

And Kyle Lowry who was picked after Balkman is turning into a beast!! (though those are the breaks in the draft). He is a great defender and rebounder too.

I'd want Nash as a backup PG, nothing more, and I think he'd be perfect.

Oh - ok. That would be great - if he comes for backup money - sort of a player coach. However, what is the long term solution at PG? Not BD (too old / injury prone). Shumpert is more of a 2 with backup PG duties. TD ?

My guess is that Baron will be a Knicks player for this year and next - he is already getting $14M or whatever from Cleveland. And I don't discount Shump being a long term solution to PG.

That would be nice with Shump but we need to see him for 20 games or so to see if he has or can develop true PG skills. As far as BD, this board is putting alot of faith in him but he has had such a rocky career due to injuries, attitude, horrible shot selection (at times) - would be great if we got the Cleveland Baron Davis though but I don't have the highest hopes.

I would not mind getting Luke Ridenour who might become expendible due to the emergence of Rubio.

I don't think you realize how efficiently Billy Walker scores compared to Bogan

Walker .493 career shooting percentage .398 from 3 point range
Bogans .395 career shooting percentage .355 from 3 point range

How about all his dumb offensive fouls? Or bad energy / lackadaisical attitude. I can't stand him

Not to mention his defense is not good. Bogan's defense is way better.
