You know....I was thinking the exact same thing, Nalod.

This potential signing would certainly generate interest
within the large Asian population in the greater Metro NY area.

Yeah, I'm sure that TMS would approve!

The Knicks may as well bring back Andy Rautins as a backup on a non guaranteed contract, he is the only available PG that is familiar with the D'Antoni offense. He handled international competition fine orchestrating offense for the Canadian team, I see no reason why he cannot be trusted for 8 min. a game as a stop-gap until Davis and Iman return.

I will switch my stance and favor Lin over Mills if and only if TMS returns

Andy Rautins has never demonstrated an ability to dribble a basketball in traffic during an NBA contest.

No to Rautins.

Yes to 6'3 200 pound Harvard-educated Lin, who will get you a rebound as well.

Hey, Bill Bradley went to Princeton. It's all about the storyline.

Certainly is, Misterearl!
I'm excited to see how Lin fits with MDA.
I think that it has the potential to be a very good signing for PG depth.

I feel like I'm "channeling" Grunwald....
Nice signing, Glen!

Knicks claim guard Jeremy Lin

The New York Knicks have claimed guard Jeremy Lin off of waivers, according to league sources.

Lin was released Sunday by the Houston Rockets to make roster room for Houston's signing of Samuel Dalembert.

The Rockets had claimed Lin off waivers after he was released by the Golden State Warriors, who had to let him go to create the requisite salary-cap space for a four-year offer sheet worth nearly $43 million to then-restricted DeAndre Jordan that was matched by the Los Angeles Clippers.

Lin is a Bay Area native who played in 29 games last season as a rookie with the Warriors, becoming the NBA's first Asian-American since 1947.

The Knicks, who last week claimed sharpshooter Steve Novak off waivers, needed another guard after rookie Iman Shumpert suffered a knee injury in New York's Christmas Day win over Boston. New York is also still waiting for the recently signed Baron Davis' back to heal sufficiently to thrust him into the starting lineup.

Jeremy Lin gives the Knicks back some of the international flavor it lost when we traded Gallinari.

I absolutely, positively endorse this signing. Please let it be confirmed.

It's confirmed and ESPN is now reporting it on a storyline.

I think that I qualify as being the Grand Master Poobah of the Jeremy Lin fan club, no?

Way to go, Glen Grunwald.....

We were in dire need of a PG, and if Lin can remain healthy and fit the bill as a pure PG, it's all the better.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

The Knicks have claimed former Harvard PG Jeremy Lin off waivers, according to a league source. Lin spent his rookie year in Oakland, but was waived by the Warriors, and new coach Mark Jackson, on Dec. 9.
The Rockets picked Lin up, but waived him Sunday to clear roster space in order to sign Samuel Dalembert. Lin, 23, was undrafted out of Harvard but appeared in 29 games for the Warriors as a rookie last season, averaging 2.6 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest.

Lin also appeared in 20 games for the Reno Bighorns of the D-League in 2010-11, averaging 18.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Mike D'Antoni said Monday the club would ink in an interim PG as Iman Shumpert heals from his sprained left knee. Mike Bibby also has back spasms and is not a definite for Wednesday's game vs. Golden State.

Also, the Knicks are waiting on eventual starter Baron Davis to heal from back issues revolving around his disk.

Its a nice pick up considering our position. No Shump or BD and we needed a stop-gap pg. Not sure how long he sticks but he does address an immediate concern at least for 2-4 weeks. When Shump and BD return, we will see what happens but until them its a good pick up...
