It's too bad Julyan Stone decided to take camp invite from Denver, would have liked to seen him have a shot.

Besides being a SG, Redd hasn't played since March, he plays no defense, and he's
one of the most injury prone players in the basketball universe....
(but he does have a sweet stroke!)

heh sorry guys! You're right, I haven't reprogrammed myself yet. I can't shake the feeling that we drop the ball on the under the radar prospects, I'll reserve judgement for when we fill out our roster.

Dude, you cannot get much further "under the radar" than Shawne Williams.

Please cite recent examples, you keep referring to, where the Knicks have demonstrated rigid thinking on prospects. So far you have offered nothing to back your theory.

I'll match yours, man for man, to help you shake the feeling.

It is a new day.

I'm pretty sure I just said I was wrong? To clarify it's a feeling (with little basis in reality) not a theory. Forgot this was the internet, where people aren't used to others admitting they mispoke/were wrong.

MattSuspect - never intended to beat you down. Just offering an opportunity to think the thing through. You are correct about the internet being a weird place where intent and tone can easily be misread. There is no such thing as "wrong" where opinion is in play.

It is the holiday season and our Knicks are fun so if it stung, I apologize.

It's only basketball.

Daniels sounds like a good choice. I remember reading a lot of good things about his play and leadership in the d-l. Not quite sure why he isn't on a team already.

Ha wow, I need to be better at message boarding, no need for apology sir, all is good! I'll use this space to get the pot stirred anyway, I have a secret hope/wish/theory that we bring Nate back. (and a prayer that he's learned his lesson). dude would be perfect on a team, that doesn't "need" him. If he's hot and playing smart, keep him in, if he's not he's a cheerleader.

He is so dumb he can't even tell which basket to shoot at. MDA would die before he puts Nate on the floor. Thank god for that!

If the choice is between the two I would favor Mills. He's more athletic and has played against far stiffer competition

I agree. Lin is an easier get though. Mills is a RFA. I would be happy with either one.

We need a PG. While showed good ballhandling, he isn't a 1.

We would have to cut somebody to bring two. Who would be the victim?

(Cue to Jared Jeffries?)

Well we have Lin now.

Also BD has been with us for about a week now, so we can reduce his recovery time by a week in the name of optimism- so hopefully he'll be back between 3 to 6 weeks. Last week Alan Hahn hinted in his last Knicks fix chat that BD would be back much sooner than that 8 week thing- he hinted twice:

Alan: I'll go out on a limb and say it won't be anywhere near 10 weeks before the PG duties will be handled by Baron Davis.

Alan: I'll go out on a limb and say it won't be anywhere near 8 weeks

and since he'd just started woking at MSG, maybe he was told something. Also someone over at the realgm forums, who has some sort of tenuous link to BD's trainer, said that the back issue is greatly exaggerated and that his back is no different to how it's been for much of his career, and the trainer expects him ready in a few weeks (not the most reliable of sources I'll admit). Factor in the way he seems to be moving around okay during that Celtics game, and we might get lucky with a rapid return.

I'm more confortable with Lin than having to roll the dice on a D-League pickup or a mental misfit like Gibnert Arenas.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

IMO, MDA will bring back Nate the moment immediately following Hell freezing over.
We have officially picked up Lin from waivers, so it;s all a done deal now. Lin's a better fit with what we need right now, anyweay. Nate's too much of a chucker.

Seriously, Nate was a clown. All he brought to the table for New York was a couple of Slam Dunk Champion titles.
Our back court needs to be strengthened somehow.
