THe only issue with Iman is whether this kid can actually play PG. If he can play PG and run the P&R at a better than Toney Douglas level, his size, speed, and defensive ability will make him a solid starter.

We know he shot well in his workout with the Knicks. We know he's been working on his shooting all summer and fall. We know he shot 47% from 2pt range and 80% from the FT line. We'll see, but my take is that he will eventually develop his long range shooting. This shouldn't be a major problem. The kid has too much talent to not be an impact player at some point.

Walsh felt confident that Iman could run the point THIS YEAR. He'll need time to adjust which they won't have much of this year, but eventually I think his talent will shine thru.

Ok this thread is away over the top. Dude's a rookie, not even sure when he would first crack the rotation. We need veteran leadership in the backcourt. I don't want Iman to be learning from TD
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

You would think by now that MDA would get the benefit of the doubt with him and PG's. If there's any PG talent at all MDA will be able to help him develop it. As i've pointed out repeatedly Iman isn't devoid of any PG skills. He's a rook and this is a serious situation and no time to play games. So Iman will have to earn his time on the court and prove that he can run the point. I have a feeling that he'll be able to do that given the competition we have on the team! BELIEVE!

Iman becoming our Raja Bell is a more likely outcome

He reminds me of Michael Ray Richardson and I think he'll be a 1.

You could be right but what are you basing this on? He's a combo guard and so he can play both spots. Right now we just need him to contribute so it doesn't matter if that's SG or PG. Think about this tho. How long do you think they'll stick with Bibby after watching Iman run circles around him everyday in practice?

I like the Raja Bell analogy. Let's say he could be a Raja Bell who can also play some point.

Raja Bell wishes he had Iman's handle, Speed and hops. Iman is going to be a bigger threat IMO. I have no problem with the Raja comparison if that's how people see him, tho I think he's got more talent in the offensive department. Don't remember too many 2 hand alleyoop dunk highlights from Bell.

Can Iman be our Rondo???
